Accepted a few days ago!
170/3.91
Non-URM
Above average softs
K-JD.
Non-resident.
I was accepted a couple days after my interview. And, by the way, I heard a little bit about UVA's interview being tough, but mine wasn't like that at all. We legitimately just chatted for most of it. The first question he asked me we were 10 minutes or so in, and then he asked one or two more (no curveball questions either) and then he talked to me for quite a while about how UVA does what I am interested in well.
Good luck everyone! And I'll add my info to the spreadsheet now.

Same boat. Submitted and complete in Nov. Have heard absolutely nothing since. I did write a Why UVA though. >both 75ths. Dunno what they're doing. Similar situation, Complete since EARLY OCTOBER. Seriously thinking they've lost my application. Didn't write a Why UVA, but 4 months without a peep is excessive.cotiger wrote:Same boat. I submitted and went complete in the second week of Nov and just got my interview request this past Wednesday. Don't worry I'm sure other November folk will be getting interview requests soon!cotiger wrote:Same boat. Submitted and complete in Nov. Have heard absolutely nothing since. Does everyone get an interview request? Is it necessary for acceptance, i.e. like Harvard / Chicago? Or is it more optional like Northwestern...Pelletier wrote:I submitted and went complete in the second week of Nov and just got my interview request this past Wednesday. It isn't 100% necessary for acceptance but most people who are accepted have been invited to interview. If I'm correct, it would be more like the Harvard/Chicago situation than the Northwestern.paglababa wrote:Does everyone get an interview request? Anyone willing to share info on Skype interview and the types of questions, length of interview, etc. Would be so grateful. Received invitation to interview would like to know what to expect. Thanks.

YMMV, but my interview was about 15 minutes long, with Admissions Director Jason Dugas. Had it late Jan.
He was very friendly, interview went by pretty quickly and flowed more like a casual conversation. I have one particularly interesting soft, which happens to be the work I'm doing now, and that was all he really focused on. He basically asked an open-ended question about where I was and why I was doing what I am doing, and that led to a mini-discussion on that topic. I spoke for about half the interview on this one thing alone, and then he asked me if I had any questions for him. I asked a few about academics, clinics, and student orgs.
If it helps, that soft was not the focus of my PS.
Then he basically told me I would hear back "very soon" and that he felt like it would be "good news". Told me to watch my inbox for a notification in the coming days.
It was pretty stress-free, and he actually cracked a joke or two. I submitted mid-Nov, wrote why UVA, but I'm international, never visited, and have no ties to the area. Above LSAT 75th, below GPA 25th.

Thank you, how long before you received follow up email? Are acceptances being made by email rather than phone call?

I've missed so many updates across all school threads recently, and I promise to catch up and dispatch congratulations where they are due, but for now I just wanted to share that I was admitted this morning! Interviewed the beginning of last week.

Does UVA tend to do waves of WL/dings? The utter silence is eerie.
