From Johann's twitter. What does this mean? :-(

In other news, the tweet under it had a kinda interesting NYT op-ed written by the NU Law Dean.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/18/opini ... share&_r=0

funny thing is that the only accelerated "2 year program" offered by Nu charges for full tuition.. If the article is talking about AJD...
Yah. They claim that you pay 3 years tuition for 5 semesters but you get out to the workplace a year earlier and save of COL and the oppertunity to start making money right away.

Quote " A two-year option, in our view, would provide young lawyers with the training they need to get started, lift a heavy financial burden off the backs of many"
just wonder if normal 3y jds can take bar and forgo the third year in law school, therefore cut down cost, how are 2y ajds gonna save money while paying in full.

NU loves work experience, though, so that definitely helped. I feel like if you've been out of school for a couple years, UGPA shouldn't even matter, but obviously I'm just biased...
when did you hear back from NU?

The last round of decisions didn't start coming out until 4pm CST. There's a bit more daylight left in Chicago, though I'm not sure what to make of his cryptic tweet from earlier today.

Ah, I forgot about CST! Excellent, cryptic tweet aside.

3yr. I am still in undergrad at the moment so it is contingent on me deferring for a year, but I was planning on probably doing that anyway so it's not a big deal. Plus they threw in a scholarship so I'm even more ok with it!

Maybe this is a normal NW thing, but I sent in an app earlier this week, and I saw they requested the LSAC report on 1/15, so I know they got it. But I have yet to receive a single email from them about it. I have emails from months ago giving me fee waiver, etc. and I've checked my junk folder, but nothing about "Hey we got your app, this is how you check your status..."
It's only been 3 days, but most school sent it the next day. Did other people notice this, or is prob 'cause they are swamped with releasing admits this week?

I applied the night I got my dec score and got an email the next morning, but I think I just beat the rush. At this point they are definitely swamped and probably behind on that stuff, I don't think its a prob at all. I've had very similar situations with other schools that I applied to later.

Took me a week or so and I actually emailed and they had thought they sent it. They quickly resent the same afternoon.

Today marks 7 weeks from December 1... Should I be expecting a decision by next Saturday, then? Also, I'm wondering what the status checker says for folks who only recently went complete. I went complete in the first week of December and had a second complete on 1/4 and at the top of my status checker it says: "...Please allow 6-8 weeks (from December 1) for a decision."

I was complete 1/9 (AJD). It just says complete with the same prompt on top.

Everyone has that prompt. I went complete in early (EARLY) November and haven't seen any status updates whatsoever. All the patterns seem to have been broken this year, so there's not really much we can do except hope that we get some good news this week!

I sure hope so! I thought that they gurentee a decision for AJDs by 2/1 but now Im not so sure... It seems like such a short turnaround cause they only started reviewing AJDs on 1/15

I've said this before but it bears repeating: the 6-8 weeks from December 1 is NOT a guarantee. Last two cycles there were people who waited 11+ weeks for a decision. Don't pin all your hopes on next week.

AJDs applicants as well? I think because school starts around May for AJD the turnaround may be faster because people have less time to decide and submit their deposit etc.

Edit:
From the AJD web site:

Deadlines
On-campus interview deadline is December 15
Off-campus interview request deadline: December 1
Application completion deadline is January 15
Decisions mailed by February 1
Enrollment deposit deadline is March 15

Just sit back, relax, and breathe. They will come. Someone said last year's group received decisions the end of the first week of February. My guess is the 8th at the latest but anything can happen.

We will get our decisions in plenty of time to make a decision on deposits and ASW.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
