Did any admits get a follow up email ensuring they got their packet? It sounded like "hey you haven't said anything soooo are you interested in us or not." Do I need to respond? RSVP or something?

Just seemed like you were saying that the person is a URM so the person is even more irrelevant. I don't think you mean it rudely, though.UnamSanctam wrote:Me, why?LRGhost wrote:Dude above also, but yeah, mostly guy.wert3813 wrote:Fixed.LRGhost wrote:Super rude, guys.

I'm very sorry. Definitely not trying to place myself above anyone here. No basis for that.

LOL! But yes, let's move on... and we've established it wasn't intentional anyway.slack_academic wrote:Plz stop fighting guys. You're tearing this family apart.

As your admit twin, I just got it, too. I don't think you have to respond. They just wanted to make sure we actually got the thing and plug for us to check out the ASW a bit.twinkletoes16 wrote:Did any admits get a follow up email ensuring they got their packet? No basis. The thread was just sorta quiet today so I thought they were taking a break. Compared to yesterday, a couple pages back, there were a lot of updates about dings and acceptances.fallingup wrote:what basis did you have for thinking that?JesusChrist wrote:oh wow, I kinda thought today would be a day off for the admissions office.Callous135 wrote:I was rejected today. Good luck to everyone else.
also, this person is wayyy below both medians at 158, 3.3, so I don't think that rejection really means much for anyone else.

I haven't been following this thread very closely, as it's a pretty big reach for me, but does it seem like their dipping lower than usual GPA-wise to maintain LSAT medians? Or to rephrase it, tell me I have a chance.

I dunno man. They were dinging/WL-ing splitters with good numbers and that's not just M doing it. Seems like it's not the cycle expected but maybe places are just going to take a lot off the WL in the next few months?emarxnj wrote:I haven't been following this thread very closely, as it's a pretty big reach for me, but does it seem like their dipping lower than usual GPA-wise to maintain LSAT medians? I think it's a crapshoot. I'm below both medians, not an URM, applied ED, was deferred to RD and recieved the "we still are debating your application" email. Granted i'm in state and an alumni with awesome softs. but still, i think there is more to it this year. They are still weighing everything. those with strong numbers getting the d may have screwed something up in their app or something, who knows.LRGhost wrote:I dunno man. You have a chance bud. I was deeply below their median and I got an acceptance letter earlier this month.emarxnj wrote:I haven't been following this thread very closely, as it's a pretty big reach for me, but does it seem like their dipping lower than usual GPA-wise to maintain LSAT medians? anyone doing an LOCI have anything to say about the length? I was encouraged to write one by my current MLaw friends and have some big, but not necessarily material updates to mention. I could make it 1 page, single spaced but i don't want to have it become over bearing. I'm also writing it as a letter, not Essay.
any thoughts?

Hey, whoa. Never even knew that person was a URM. I am a huge supporter of race based admissions and don't associate "lower qualifications" with URM at all. Moving on. The pre-law advisor at my school suggested LOCI's of 1-3 sentences...is that normal or is the previous poster's 1 page single spaced more expected?DaRascal wrote:*Reads fallingup's post as disdain for URMs, looks for the Michigan essay that would address this, and writes it*

I didn't submit any of my applications until December 25th, should I consider an LOCI or wait awhile still? Also, is it typical to only send an LOCI to one school. I applied to over 7 schools and don't want to get stuck with each of them thinking I would rather go to a different school, but I am not committed to early decision on any of them because of financing. Any suggestions?

Wait a little on the LOCI. I believe that it is common to send LOCI to a number of schools based on how close you are to their medians.Jacq2212 wrote:I didn't submit any of my applications until December 25th, should I consider an LOCI or wait awhile still? If you don't hear back from the schools within a month or six weeks, send in the LOCI.

Haha I was kidding, fallingup. I know you didn't mean anything malicious.
Also, I'm so scared. Please please please let there be one more status update. I'm not ready for bad news today.

so far status updater is still stuck on yesterday. Anyone else at this? Decisions today, yet only a week after that email? I would have thought 2-3 weeks would have been likely.
