Some of the people with lower stats might get rejections, but the people who have strong stats are sticking around until the end of August...hypothalamus wrote:I'm seeing rejections tomorrow or Tuesday
Since HLS admissions don't do anything on Monday, ever, emails will probably start coming out on Tuesday.

Out of curiosity, how many people are waiting that would still actually go?

If the suicide rate among Harvard admits is unusually high this year and blindfolded JS pulls my file out of the garbage pile by some miracle, it would be literally the most ironic thing in my life. The only equally ironic thing I can think of would be if the above happened to Elendilmarcellus wrote:I see. You're trying reverse psychology to get Harvard to send you a JR1. wow "suicide rates". Even in the world of dark humor, I bet there's something slightly more tasteful.

If thats the case, then we have about 4 WL-admits trickling in since the last wave. Though none have checked into this thread!!

hmmm... first part could be true (about you), but for the second part (about me) we might need to define humor, and figure out the comedic value of suicide jokes.
Now this is what find funny, a back and forth about an inconsequential reference to suicide.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2012
Total wait list admit count so far: 47
30 in the first wave, 13 in the second wave, 4 in the trickle-in period* (early July - now)
2 declined admission, one in each of the 2 waves
0 people claimed WL--> JS1 --> no JS2, likely because we told them its a foolish thing to say you aren't sure you want to attend during your WL --> JS1
*It was hard to count these since people stopped reporting into this thread. The number comes from 2 on the "In at H" thread, 1 JDflowergirl astutely caught in a totally different thread and reported on page 63 of this one, and 1 from hypothalamus' would-be NYU roommate.

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2012
Just thought I'd share that I received an e-mail from Dean Soban today requesting an interview from the waitlist. I declined as I'm headed to Stanford [I didn't respond to the initial waitlist e-mail, which I thought meant they wouldn't put my name on the list but apparently they did anyway].
Hoping this post doesn't come off as douchey, I just wanted to keep those of you still waiting updated on the fact there are still spots. I'm an AA URM. Good luck!

I remain a proud member of the tiny, elite group of people in whom Harvard has shown absolutely no interest.

bromance, thanks for filling us all in on your situation! Sounds like its Harvard's loss that you didn't choose to go there. Best wishes at Stanford.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
