Just going off what I've seen here, the few people who have received emails (or voicemails) like that called to find out that they were accepted. Could be something else though...thelawschoolproject wrote:Boston_NYG2245 wrote:So far its meant that you're in...thelawschoolproject wrote:Why would UVA email me to say that they need to talk with me about my application?

Yep; it means they tried to call you and you didn't answer. Call em back and enjoy.Boston_NYG2245 wrote:So far its meant that you're in...thelawschoolproject wrote:Why would UVA email me to say that they need to talk with me about my application?

This is me too. I haven't been following this thread. Am I sticking out like a sore thumb if I submitted end of October and I haven't heard anything? I'm a 10/25 submit and haven't heard anything, either. I wouldn't be surprised if I were WL'ed or rejected. though, because I have quite a large split in my numbers.jpal13 wrote:This is me too. Not true - I am 168/3.4, not URM and I got in RD less than two weeks after applying. They do take work experience, personal factors, etc. into account. If you are applying straight out of school and are under the medians, you might be in trouble.

I don't think it would be a rejection at this point since they've already rejected people with much later submit dates according to this thread and LSN. I'm thinking it's most likely a waitlist, and then a small chance for an acceptance if they choose to. Seems like WL's for RD applicants haven't been sent out yet, so I'm more-so thinking it's the former. Just holding onto to the little hope that my LOCI can slip me in.

Tried to withdraw after hearing back from Michigan earlier this week, but never received a confirmation. Anyone else withdraw and not get a return email? I sent to the general email address. Don't want to hold up someone else's cash...

Got the email saying to call in about my application. If this is what I think it is, looks like my LOCI worked.

I had a personal statement, and diversity statement. My LOCI which I just emailed them a few days ago talked about meeting the dean last fall and why UVA. Also a transcript update via email.Mr. Somebody wrote:Did you also write a Why UVA when you applied?Champion wrote:Got the email saying to call in about my application. Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Thanks! I submitted 10/25, and was seeing on LSN that people had been accepted and rejected with UR dates both before and after mines. I figured send in an LOCI because I was destined for a Waitlist that I wouldnt ride out since that would mean UVA at sticker.thestillpoint wrote:Congrats, very exciting!!Champion wrote:I had a personal statement, and diversity statement. Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Congrats!! I am debating sending in a LOCI or a why V statement. I already sent in a personal statement and a diversity statement and an addendum, so I didn't want to overwhelm my file by submitting additional info. I also feel a little funny doing it because even though I think UVA is a great school with a lot of cool programs, I'm not sure that I'd choose it over some of the places I've already gotten in. To that end, it feels a little disingenuous to send one in just so I can save myself from the inevitable WL/ding.Champion wrote:Got the email saying to call in about my application. I'm in the same exact boat. I'm leaning towards not doing it for the same reason; but I also think it'd be nice to potentially have scholarship leverage. And to feel less guilty -- if you paid to apply, then why not? I received a fee waiver so I can't make myself feel betteramc987 wrote:Congrats!! I am debating sending in a LOCI or a why V statement. Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Yeah, I got a fee waiver as well, so the getting my money's worth argument isn't really swaying me either. I'll do some searching on their website and see if I can find some additional opportunities in my areas of interest that really excite me. I guess I'd have to do that to write a LOCI or a Why V statement anyway. If I can find enough to justify it, then great. If I can't, then I may not write anything. And it may not make a difference either way. The adcomms at UVA could've absolutely hated what I submitted and are just taking their time to tell me that in writing.
