Re: BU 2011 Applicants
I got an acceptance call last Tuesday. An email about a reception and the admitted students site password the next day. Got the acceptance packet in the mail either Friday or Saturday. It was waiting for me this morning when I came back from out of town, and since there was no mail yesterday...ps1187 wrote:Aargh! Now my phone has stopped working altogether!!krad wrote:When BU called my iphone late last month, the number came across as 'Unknown' so I didn't answer...! When they left a VM it showed up as the 617-353-2000 number, which is what I think shows up for everyone IIRC.ps1187 wrote:I just missed a phone call about 15 minutes ago, and my voicemail isn't working!radio-edit wrote:In via voicemail 10 minutes ago! Of all the times to call, they picked the 15 minutes I was donating blood and couldn't move to reach my phone... But yay! Now I'm extra lightheaded!
169/3.68, complete 1/5.
Did the call come from a Boston phone number, or was it anonymous?
How long was it between the phone call and the acceptance email (assuming that's standard procedure)?
Edit: NYU got back to me 1/21 after applying 1/1. BU got back to me 2/15 after applying 11/26. It happens.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
There isn't a true acceptance email that I can recall; Looking through my inbox I got a "Welcome from the Dean" email on Feb 9, after they called on Jan 31. I think I received my acceptance packet in the mail on Feb 5...ps1187 wrote: Aargh! Now my phone has stopped working altogether!!

In!! Just got the voicemail. I have terrible reception @ work and my phone didn't even ring.
I enjoy the excitement of looking at the screen to see the area code I've been waiting for.
I submitted early/mid Jan.

I'm really considering submitting an official status check, even though I called them not too long ago. It seems like many people who submit requests get an actual decision rather soon after.

Argh, I just sent another status request. The first time I sent one, I never got a response, which led me to call them. They told me they didn't have it on record that I requested it so hopefully, it doesn't look like I'm annoying them. Don't wanna annoy anyone.

No, but they told me on the phone I was "ready for review".Emma1 wrote:They still didn't send it after you called?Gemini wrote:Argh, I just sent another status request. Some people did get decisions soon after, but not everyone. I submitted a status check about a month ago and was told my file was ready for review. Still no word and now sitting at complete for 5 months.Gemini wrote:I'm really considering submitting an official status check, even though I called them not too long ago. Would you consider the $20k/yr over T14's/UCLA, etc? I might not have the same choice but...just curious.Arbiter213 wrote:Got a $20k/year offer via mail today.

LOL. BU asked me to explain my criminal addendum. Tonight I opened it up so I could remember exactly what it said and realized I made a really obnoxious typo in the second sentence. Wonder if this affected me at all this cycle?
