If you like pizza, check out Zachary's Pizza (google maps will find it pretty easily). Amazing pizza.r6_philly wrote:I am visiting this week. This doesn't sound too swell. Two places for pizza (and beer): Jupiter and The Cheese Board. Jupiter is sit down and brew their own beer (also, the pizza and beer are sold on campus in The Bear's Lair next to the school bookstore) and The Cheese Board is lunch-time grub where you can buy by the slice. I can honestly say that The Cheese Board changed my eating life.DreamShake wrote:If you like pizza, check out Zachary's Pizza (google maps will find it pretty easily). Have yet to post here -- in via status checker then follow up email. Still can't believe it. This school was a HUGE reach for me. I didn't expect to even break T14, let alone T10. All I can say is that the whole "Berkeley is holistic" mantra is likely accurate.
Thanks God for PS, DS, WE, and LOR's!

YOU ROCK.
But I wouldn't want you to waste all your Berkeley capital on me
Then again, you probably have a lot of it.

I'm sort of celebrating so bear with me. Let me see, I'm basically right at their medians (according to TLS class of 2009 data). From all the talk about Berkeley being so GPA specific, I actually figured I had NO chance, but I guess I was wrong!Knock wrote:#'s?BackToTheOldHouse wrote:Have yet to post here -- in via status checker then follow up email. Well, their LSAT median fell to a 167 for the 2010 cycle I believe.BackToTheOldHouse wrote:I'm sort of celebrating so bear with me. Class of 2009 would be like...2006 cycle data? I'm not sure but it's definitely out of date.BackToTheOldHouse wrote:According to TLS 'Class of 2009' data, median LSAT was 166 and GPA was 3.79 . . .Knock wrote:Well, their LSAT median fell to a 167 for the 2010 cycle I believe.BackToTheOldHouse wrote: I'm sort of celebrating so bear with me. Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
Thanks for the added data. Like I said, even as a Cali guy I was figuring a denial, but, as I said, I REALLY think my PS, DS, WE, and LOR's put me over the hump between admit and denial. Just a quick glance at LSN confirms this for me.
Anyway, congrats to those admitted and BEST OF LUCK TO ALL STILL WAITING. I absolutely know what the wait feels like.

Re: Berkeley 2011 applicants
Berkeley undergrad speaking here - it's the most liberal city in the USA with many homeless help clinics, etc. Hence, many homeless. Liberal city = nudity on flyers not a big issue as in other places. Also last week the students were on vacation, I believe, so you didn't see a "typical" scene at Cal... it can be a bit of a shock, I imagine. But the homeless people are pretty much harmless as long as you don't try to talk to them or hug them (like an unfortunate friend of mine, lol). The crime can be a problem, but just don't go anywhere by yourself after dark. I never had a problem while I was there because I did this. Yea, I heard the odd stories about muggings in stores in broad daylight, but those are rare. Berkeley is not for everyone, but don't let the town's quirks stop you from going there if you really want to.sarahlawg wrote:I went and visited Berkeley last week...
