WTF just happened?
Anyways.........Still waiting for UCLA and I feel that the lack of a status checker has finally become a curse. Since they WL and Ding via e-mail, I assume that my app is still alive and kicking. I just wish I knew what was taking them so damn long! Oh well, I guess I need to work on my patience and this will be a good exercise for that.

Did anyone that sent in the WL form receive any sort of confirmation that they received it?

I faxed in the sheet last week and called later that day to confirm the receipt. At the very least, it hammers home the fact that I'm interested in the school.

Looks like Tuesday the 16th of last year (which will be tomorrow the 15th) was a busy day of notices. Hopefully it will be a good day for us! <3 UCLA

So, I didn't get offered a travel stipend by UCLA and I know they've given them to people with #s like mine. Anyone here requested one from them?

I already booked my travel and was hoping to get one, but I haven't had the balls to ask since I already booked the travel (they'd catch on since it's this weekend).Bildungsroman wrote:So, I didn't get offered a travel stipend by UCLA and I know they've given them to people with #s like mine. Re: UCLA? 2011
All I had to do was call and ask and they set it up for me. Took a bit of legwork (had to talk to the admissions office first, they directed me to Paul Mata - one of the law school financial office guys - who then had me talk to the university travel person), but all-things-considered it was fairly easy. Some other schools hat I've dealt with about this have you clear your expenses through their offices, then book it yourself and bring in receipts for reimbursement. UCLA just went ahead and put together an itinerary for me (after consulting with me on my preferences) and then just booked the ticket for me. That's why I had to talk to three different people to begin with. But I much preferred that way of doing it as opposed to putting it all on my credit card to begin with and then having to get reimbursed.Bildungsroman wrote:So, I didn't get offered a travel stipend by UCLA and I know they've given them to people with #s like mine. So, in short, just call the admissions office and ask about it. Then go from there.

I truly forget I applied to UCLA, despite the fact that it is one of my top choices.

you're the first 170+ applicant I've seen go straight to the ding. I thought they usually let us rot in the waitlist.Adjudicator wrote:Dinged by email today. Did not expect that, honestly.
