Re: michigan 2010 applicants
I think this post confirms Dean Z's status as the coolest admissions officer out there. TLS can only dream that Dean Z may become an occasional poster on TLS for her insights and posts would offer a huge amount to TLS members who are applying to Michigan. Dean Z, thank you for the amazing interview and I look forward to your hopefully posting on TLS again (perhaps in the off season when you have more time). For those who have not yet read Dean Z's informative interview, it is at:

Dean Z,
Please look at the Michigan ED thread and admit everyone. Everyone in it loves Michigan more than you know!

Re: michigan 2010 applicants
I have to say, the Michigan frequently asked questions for the admissions site are actually so entertaining that I read them all for pleasure.
I then sent tidbits to my best friend who's got nothing to do with law school. I'm pretty sure she's convinced I'm going crazy.
Also, Dean Z, if you've got some leftover admissions letters that you're trying to get rid of...I can probably help you with that...

Perhaps a synthesis of both?
I realize that many people here are very grateful, as I would undoubtedly be, but the obsequiousness is nonetheless a bit nauseating.

Re: michigan 2010 applicants
people on TLS always react to admissions staff this way. It's a little weird, and seems somewhat disingenuous to me, but at the same time, it is nice of Dean Z to come on here and clear up the earlier statements. Mich didn't have to, but apparenty cares enough about either perception or applicants to take the time. That's certainly better then the earlier impression that they think we are all neurotic and want us to leave them alone.Munner wrote:Perhaps a synthesis of both?

Re: michigan 2010 applicants
I don't think they're necessarily keeping track of who just logs in, but it seems like excessive checking might strain their servers? Just keep in mind that the site only updates once a day and that you shouldn't call or email the admissions office asking about it. All the extra calls and emails are slowing down their review/decision process since they have to deal with people asking about it.SanBun wrote:ok i know this has been discussed, but someone pls get me up to speed: Is it true the Mich admissions office keeps track of how many times applicants log in and view overlogging as negative?
