Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
On LSN, every single person admitted this cycle (well, except one) has a 3.8+ GPA or 168+ LSAT

Waitlisted with a 170, 3.87. I turned down the interview option (don't know why lol), so I wasn't expecting anything better than this

Waitlisted. Looks like everyone was waitlisted? What's up with that?

Why do I see a bunch of <3.8 or <168? Did I do anything wrong?hammy393 wrote:On LSN, every single person admitted this cycle (well, except one) has a 3.8+ GPA or 168+ LSAT

Probably more like everyone who was accepted had both numbers. I have above 3.8 and was WL.hammy393 wrote:On LSN, every single person admitted this cycle (well, except one) has a 3.8+ GPA or 168+ LSAT

No just either/or. But having either/or doesn't = acceptance :/KDavis95 wrote:Probably more like everyone who was accepted had both numbers. I have above 3.8 and was WL.hammy393 wrote:On LSN, every single person admitted this cycle (well, except one) has a 3.8+ GPA or 168+ LSAT

WL'd at both Northwestern and UChicago.... man the city of Chicago just does not want to get Litt Up...
P.S. do you think this is because they want to get a look at the entire applicant pool? Or does johann just hate us all...

Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I think NW is probably YPing more due to the drop in higher scorers but the increase at 170. They want to see who is serious, so they might pull from the waitlist more.Litt1tUp wrote:WL'd at both Northwestern and UChicago.... man the city of Chicago just does not want to get Litt Up...

Well they have us a deadline to respond to the interest survey bc they wanted to include info in the packages, so they probably won't or haven't sent them until after the DL which was in febjjcorvino wrote:I heard they give a nice notebook. WL with 171/Superior. Couldn't do the interview because of technical problems at my end and told them that. Also said happy to Skype it if they want to interview. Not entirely suprised by the decision.sphyrnidae13 wrote:Waitlisted with a 170, 3.87. I turned down the interview option (don't know why lol), so I wasn't expecting anything better than this

Do alumni interviews play a role in their decisions? Had probably the best interview of my life with a NU alum which lasted 45 mins and still got WL'ed.

Wow interesting! I totally thought that alumni interview would give you a serious leg up (provided your numbers and app were okay)Harry Ass Truman wrote:Do alumni interviews play a role in their decisions? My alumni interview was awful. I think I handled it well but it was VERY clear that the person couldn't care less about it.

Application *still* complete, but finally had a date change yesterday. Mean anything?

I think it helps in general, especially if that interview requires a certain amount of commuting. But it also makes you more susceptible to nuanced variables that otherwise wouldn't affect your application if you do online. That said, mine was extremely helpful and said I could always email her if I want her to add anything in my evaluation she submitted to the school.Harry Ass Truman wrote:Do alumni interviews play a role in their decisions? I am guessing that you are either YPed or there is something else in your app that held you back. Good luck on other schools man, rooting for you!
