Email admissions expressing your continued interest and ask to coordinate a visit (schedule a meeting with an admissions officer, class visit etc).abc__ wrote:I just got an email that i'm on the preferred waitlist. I was reading in past threads that, other than sending a LOCI, people were visiting campus to help get them off the waitlist. Sorry if this is a dumb question but how would admissions know that you visited the campus unless they randomly checked for your name specifically?
After the visit - loci, with examples from your experience o n campus

Acceptance letter came today! Was surprised to see it in my mailbox, since I'm at home. Glad they sent it here instead of my school address!

Visit and then mention your visit in your LOCI. If someone in admissions was helpful during your visit, send them a thank you with your LSAC number under your name.abc__ wrote:I just got an email that i'm on the preferred waitlist. I applied 11/23 and had a group interview in early November but I have not heard anything and am unable to request a username/password on the ASW. Should I start assuming that I've been put on WL or dinged?

If you haven't received an email saying you've been dinged or waitlisted yet, the only thing it's safe to assume is that you (and we) have no idea. There's no incentive to assume bad news before you get bad news.clsglaw2015 wrote:I applied 11/23 and had a group interview in early November but I have not heard anything and am unable to request a username/password on the ASW. You're right, thank you. Just worried since acceptances usually seem to come within a shorter timeframe. Gotta stay positive!rska884 wrote:If you haven't received an email saying you've been dinged or waitlisted yet, the only thing it's safe to assume is that you (and we) have no idea. Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I hear. Easy to watch others on this site get news and get worried, but there could be a million different reasons for that other than bad news. I spent months after my interview watching people post that they got accepted to UVA at the end of theirs (despite applying well after me), and assumed I was rejected. Ended up getting in with substantial money. You never know until you know, so don't despair yet.clsglaw2015 wrote:You're right, thank you. Acceptance letter waiting for me in my mailbox when I got back in town.
So for those, like me, that find this sort of thing helpful:
Complete 11/9, Interview Request 11/25, Interviewed 12/10, Logged in to Admitted Students Website 12/21,
Acceptance postmarked 12/21.

After a crappy day at work yesterday I came home to a much appreciated acceptance letter. I went complete on 12/07 and had an interview on 12/21. My letter was post-marked 12/22, however - guess I should've checked the ASW.

Does attending ASW at Georgetown increase your chances of receiving a scholarship, or at any school for that matter?

If you're bad at the search function, then sometime around February.lymenheimer wrote:search functionjlauria_ banta wrote:Does anyone know when scholarship offers might get sent out? Or have they and I just didn't get one ?
If you're not bad at the search function, it's still February

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
They will get an updated report from CAS. Don't need to do anything. It would be different if they had contacted you about a hold/WL...In this case, since they are still reviewing your file, there is no need to contact them. Though I could be way off track with my answer.calilaw33 wrote:Applied to Gtown and interviewed in mid-October with a 166...haven't heard anything since. Just got my December score, 168. I imagine they were waiting for the score but should I send a follow up email to admissions? What's the protocol here? Thanks.

Re: Georgetown C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Mine was super super relaxed. No need to be nervous. We met at a Starbucks and just chatted. I was trying to play up my strengths and the interviewer stopped me and said "you don't need to sell yourself to me. My purpose in being here is to sell Georgetown to you." She said she can't guarantee I'd be admitted, but said that being contacted for an interview shows they are very interested...ppt5 wrote:Can anyone give me any insight into the Alumni interview process? I got my acceptance letter a week and a half later.

My application was complete November 16th and I interviewed December 16th. I have yet to hear back from them, and it looks like they usually respond in 11-14 days. Any insight?
