Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Does anyone know the unofficial policy on sending an LOCI before getting a decision? Not held or anything, just no decision. Really thinking of giving it a shot, to push along a decision either way. I'd appreciate any advice!

Apparently more scholarships are going out. Meanwhile, no mention of those of us still waiting since the "within the next few days" tweet which was over a week ago!
Really hoping we hear by tomorrow. This wait is insane.

Reverse splitter, complete 3/17. Extenuating circumstances led to me not being able to do the online interview so that probably was a lot of it, though my LSAT isn't pretty either.calgoldenbear wrote:When did you go complete, etc.?LadyProspero wrote:Dinged.

I sent a follow-up e-mail couple weeks ago and got ignored after getting the auto-response.
Anyways, does anyone know when the seat deposit is due? I might try contacting them again after that date if I don't get a decision.

Northwestern was my top choice before this whole process started, but I have been completely turned off by the way they have handled the application process. Not getting my decision within the 8-10 week timeframe, tweets about decisions that never end up happening, not receiving a fee waiver despite people with much lower numbers getting them, etc. There is no excuse for taking three plus months to render a decision at NU.

I just used the date calculator to find out I've been waiting for 31% of a calendar year, or 116 days.Za-or-Nah wrote:22 weeks...J234 wrote:WaitersIsland wrote:Northwestern was my top choice before this whole process started, but I have been completely turned off by the way they have handled the application process. Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Same, I started this process with NU as my clear #1. I get that I'm not an autoadmit or reject based on my super-splitterness, but I don't know how or why they think it's reasonable to wait until only days before most schools' deposit deadlines to release decisions. If they truly need more time to evaluate applications, they can always set an earlier application deadline. This performance just smacks of incompetence.WaitersIsland wrote:Northwestern was my top choice before this whole process started, but I have been completely turned off by the way they have handled the application process. Completely inconsiderate to release decisions after the majority of initial deposits are due... I guess they really can do whatever they want though.

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
So I went through last years thread and saw there was a group of decisions released Friday, April 17th. Maybe this week for those of us then that are still waiting? Unfortunately, I think most, if not all of them, were waitlists/rejections. Sorry for that slightly morbid outlook, but just trying to keep my expectations in check.

Thanks for researching and sharing. I've been expecting a hold or ding since applying, but it's pretty shitty to have to wait 4+ months for bad news when there have been plenty of hold/reject decisions for people who applied after me that they could/should have included me in if a hold/ding were to be the end result -___-gjs13 wrote:So I went through last years thread and saw there was a group of decisions released Friday, April 17th. Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
First post - be gentle!
NU is my top choice - and still no word! Doesn't seem to bode well based on decision history from C/O 2017 and 2018. Is it appropriate (smart) to send additional information - additional LOR or resume additions such as awards, academic accolades, new volunteer work, etc.? Or is that just too desperate?
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I must say, from the decisions taking forever to whenever I've called the admissions staff acting like I'm completely inconveniencing their day, Northwestern might take the cake for the worst admissions experience I've had thus farWaitersIsland wrote:Northwestern was my top choice before this whole process started, but I have been completely turned off by the way they have handled the application process.
