 that SUCKS. I have sad images in my head of you waiting near a rain-soaked window even late into the evening, perking up every time headlights come into view and then sadly sinking back down when it's just another neighbor coming home from work.

The best part is, I don't know you outside of your TLS and your avatar. So in my head, you're just a sad little Ben Stiller with sad little Ben Stiller eyes...

Thank you to those that replied to my question about PT and FT. I had read the info about the policy change and that it is now more difficult to transfer to FT, but that information seemed primarily concerned with students that are post-matriculation. If I do wind up admitted to PT, I will call the admissions office and explain my concerns. I don't want to call at this point because it would make it seem like I had not thought through my decision to apply to both programs (I actually had considered the drawbacks of PT, but figured I would take what I could get). Better to get in first and then deal with the smaller issues.

Haha. That's pretty much spot on (except for the Ben Stiller part...but there really IS more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good-looking.) My landlord and I share a mailbox, and he normally gets back earlier than me so I have him on high alert too. The mailman literally comes once a week, it's unreal. I generally get my mail sent to my office, but I felt a little weird about that for law school stuff. I live super close to GULC too, so I wish there was an option to just pick up my stuff from the school, but I don't think they'd go for that. :|

How the hell do you live in (near?) DC and only get weekly mail delivery? I thought USPS delivers daily everywhere... Except maybe *way* out in the country?

I just had an alum interview and it was very casual and pleasant. I wore a full suit, of course, but other than that, the giving of a copy of my resume, and the standard opening "Tell me about yourself and why law" question, it felt more like a Q&A or meet-and-greet than an interview. Perhaps it was also due to the fact that we met at a local cafe rather than in the interviewer's office because that was the only way our schedules worked out.

That said, I would still definitely prepare all the answers I could foresee, and have some good questions in store. The interview was enjoyable because the interviewer got to talk a lot about her experiences--it's more fun for both people that way. I asked if she'd had any favorite professors she'd recommend, and she kept saying she'd never gotten that question before! So that might be an interesting one to try.

Best of luck, all!

I live in DC, about 11 blocks from GULC. USPS is supposed to deliver every day. They also NEVER fire anyone unless they commit a serious violation. My mailman is just an asshole who has decided that since he serves the housing projects and the surrounding areas, he doesn't need to deliver mail every day.

I think my landlord has. Up until now it hasn't really been a problem for me, since I get everything sent to my office or via email. USPS is such a massive bureaucracy that it just wasn't worth it to me to even try. Of course if he keeps this up, I may have to actually do something about it.

FYI: ASW now works for students admitted 1/13! No need to keep looking for my delinquent mailman, I'm officially in! Submitted late November, group interview mid-December. GPA>25, LSAT>50.

Got the letter today! :D

Postmarked 1/13, which was my last date change. I was able to create a username/password combo 1/14 but I'm still waiting on actually logging in.

<25 GPA, >75 LSAT
Complete 12/2 and five date changes with interview between the second and third.

I'm assuming I should wear a suit to my alumni interview, right?

I didn't. I was coming from work and my work dress is business casual. A suit would have been overkill, but we met at a bar/lounge in the evening for drinks, though, so it was somewhat more casual. I'm sure it's entirely dependent on the setting. When (as in what time) and where are you meeting?

Your alumni interview sounds.....romantic.

Regarding the suit issue, I attended a business casual interview in a suit under the logic that looking your best never makes a bad impression. Even at a bar, men in suits look assertive. The imagined downside risk of looking like you're trying too hard doesn't seem plausible to me. Of course you're trying hard--this is important to you.
