I would also like this email. I'm in WL territory (171/3.5x) so not really expecting one, but it would be nice. One can dream, right?! :(

Edit: Ahhh they love me! Just got it! :D

Haha I know...but somehow I don't think that will stop me from wanting to check again later in the day, even with no change!

They explicitly say they are not soliciting you for more material in the email, but since I only did one of the supplemental essays I wonder if this is a hint to write one more? Either way, it was a nice email to get.

"A hint to write one more"? Are you serious? She specifically said they weren't asking for more materials, unless something has changed since it's been so long. The only way she could have made it more explicit is if she titled the email "MICHIGAN HERE, YOU DON'T NEED TO SEND IN ANY MORE SUPPLEMENTAL ESSAYS."

I'd relax. I'm pretty sure getting the email is a good sign!

Yeah, I don't think they need more. They emailed me this cycle and asked for an additional essay.

I'll be honest, I'd be less interested in the stats than in when they applied if you're trying to decipher something from who did/didn't get an email. I doubt they'd send an "I'm sorry" email to anyone who submitted after Dec 1 at this point just because it hasn't actually been that long.

My guess is that this is for all of the people from way back who they haven't made a decision on yet at all, and who they are likely not looking at literally right this second. They're busy people, they wouldn't waste their own time let alone yours just having stacks of these applications sitting around if they'd already made an admit/WL/deny decision. Don't try reading too much into it negatively.

I applied end of November and didn't get my status checker until like 12/05. I was surprised to get the email.

Still no email and I applied mid November. I guess in my case they're just happy to make me wait…

I also got the email.

Applied the last week of November. Went complete shortly after, though I don't remember the exact date.

I was surprised to get it as I don't feel like I have been waiting that long yet. I would be interested to know what the cutoff date was for these. I must be pretty close to it.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
