has anyone successfully negotiated with BC??

if so, did you email their financial aid office, or a specific faculty member?

I sent an email a few days ago and nothing at all back but I sent it to the dean who signed my original offer letter because I figured it would get forwarded to her anyways. My plan is to wait it out a little and send a follow-up a little more than a week before the first deposit deadline basically saying I can't put down a non-refundable deposit without more money haha heres to hoping !

I sent mine directly to the Dean of Admissions. Realllly quick turnaround.

alright cool thanks for the information. i've been sending mine to admissions at the other schools ive been admitted to, working up the ladder. Fordham increased my scholly with no problem, hopefully BC will be as accommodating

I sent my scholly request on 4/15, heard back on 4/20. Gave deposit in person on 4/21. Deposit due date was 4/25.

I meant this year haha. I imagine by April they would be very responsive but right now I think they are so far behind and trying to catch up.

I would never do it myself, but fine by me. In some cultures, parents are heavily involved in their children's lives farrrr into adulthood.

there were several parents at the ASD i attended. i didnt think it was that weird. i mean, its definitely helicopter parent-ey for sure, but i brought my fiance and i can understand why some would bring their parents especially if they're footing the bill.

oh wait, did you mean actual class? from actual students? or class during the ASD?

^^at most ASD's yes, but BC is extremely family friendly. That is part of what makes it BC. For parent's weekend in undergrad, for example, the parents are welcomed into the classrooms with their kids, whether that be a lecture hall or discussion section.

(Not saying that you should bring the 'rents to professional school, but just suggesting that is not out of place for them to visit campus.)

My parents wanted to join me in visiting schools and i put my foot down. I can't imagine them joining for ASW, that's worse. It's funny, mine were never really helicopter parents until I told them I wanted to go to law school. PinkLotus, I feel ya on the wrath of ethnic parenting!

Meh I don't mind just telling you on this thread. My numbers are 3.5 and 161. That's why I was so surprised to be admitted. Oh and I submitted a few days before Christmas and went complete and UR on 1/2.

I'm a non-URM K-JD and all of my attempts at curing cancer have been pretty ineffective.
