non traditional - completing undergrad now (10yr gap between HS and UG)
Strong work history and community involvement

Great PS
Excellent LOR
I hope this isn't the beginning of the end....
So, with this new data in mind, UW doesn't seem to care about GPA, LSAT, residency, PS, WE, URM status, or LORs.
Maybe accepted applicants used a special font? Scented paper? Sexually suggestive language?
Sorry about the ding!

After seeing this, in addition to the earlier crazy rejections/waitlists, I'm feeling even less confident about my status checker saying "Decision 2/25/2011." Was IR 1/21.
We have pretty similar stories (NA / WA Tribe / WA resident / Strong connections to tribe) with different numbers (my GPA is worse but LSAT is higher) and then swap your non-traditional for my UW Undergrad. We'll see soon enough.

They sent me a follow-up questionnaire asking about my favorite flavor of ice cream, my ideal vacation, and how many people I've kissed... so don't worry all -- this is clearly a logical process.

I'll get back to you on sexually-suggestive language based on how my literotica inspired personal statement is received

To say I don't understand the process is beating a dead horse, but... I don't! No capisce. [/bad Italian] I cannot tell what they're looking for, besides I guess, veterans, because that seems to be what the admits have in common.
I've given up on that 2nd letter being an actual letter. Back to stalking the status check to see if I get a THIRD "letter", and then maybe THAT will be a decision.

Decision 2/24. Anyone else on the same boat? I wonder if I'm on the rejection batch.

No! Let me cling to my last vestige of hope that logic is being applied in this process!

Yep, nothing here. I'm pretty shocked that nothing came on Saturday. They told me to call back if it hadn't come in a week... so I guess it's time to call.
Edit: and now my status checker as been updated to "Decision 2/28". According to the status sheet... my decision happened 13 days after the letter was mailed. lol

Dont know if this would help anyone, but I called in to the admission office to ask for my decision over the phone and they were able to disclose it to me. However, I think they were only willing to do so because I told them I will be traveling for the next month or so due to work-related reasons and that I won't be able to receive any snail mail for awhile.
Long story short, IN! 166/3.6

Way to go!! Any notable softs/WE?
It will be funny now when 30 people call today and all of them just happen to NEED their decision over the phone because they'll all be travelling for the next month

HAHA, oh god. I hope I didn't open pandora's box.
Average softs: various leadership positions in UG, volunteer work with JA and Habitat for Humanity, and 2 yr WE as a financial analyst.
No ties to WA, Texas resident, Asian heritage (Chinese).

I'm still waiting on my 2/15 decision letter, but I just checked my status on a whim and it has now been updated to Decision 2/28. Probably doesn't carry a whole lot of meaning, but it did inspire a whole new wave of anxiety to wash over me.

So I talked to them on the phone again. The whole 2/15 batch has had problems getting out apparently. They wouldn't go into details, sadly. I thought to push, but then they agreed to let me know the decision over the phone. I figure that there's no reason to reward them relaxing their phone policy by being bitchy. Especially since I got in! So here are the final stats for those just tuning in...
169/No GPA/URM-Mexican/Washington Resident since '88. Applied 1/15, In Review 2/1, "Decision letter mailed" 2/15, Called on 2/23 to check in and was told that the letter went out on 2/22, Status changed to "Decision" on 2/28, Accepted via phone call on 2/28.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
