Re: Yale 2011 applicants
Confused7, I really appreciate your optimism!
I'm just worried because my application was only completed last week due to a mix-up with one of my Dean's Certifications. And my partner (a fellow PhD student at the dissertation level) plans to be a visitor researching and collaborating with a faculty member at Yale next year; we were aiming to move to New Haven. I'm not sure what we would do if I'm not in at YLS. I wonder if anyone else is in a similar situation?
Anyway, GOOD LUCK to everyone still waiting on a response!!!

About ten minutes after I sent in the form to remain on Yale's waitlist, my partner got into a grad program at Harvard off their waitlist ---- which means I'm HLS-bound and the Yale waitlist is about to shrink by one. Good luck to everyone waiting it out!

Sucks that you can't wait it out, but I'm glad that we're one down. Good luck at HLS!fishdude wrote:About ten minutes after I sent in the form to remain on Yale's waitlist, my partner got into a grad program at Harvard off their waitlist ---- which means I'm HLS-bound and the Yale waitlist is about to shrink by one. Re: Yale 2011 applicants
those of you on the WL will be happy to know that youre chances at getting a spot just increased negligibly... as I've withdrawn my application. Best of luck! I'm also HLS bound and extremely excited about that

Your post reeks of BS. If what you say is true, you would've likely withdrawn . . . or not bothered to check your e-mail.moneko wrote:ding yesterday ~5pm PST
not sad about it since i got HLS and i would've chosen harvard over yale anyways (my specific concentration)

Your post reeks of douchiness. Who cares if what moneko says is true or is a defense mechanism?TheFriendlyBarber wrote:Your post reeks of BS. If what you say is true, you would've likely withdrawn . . . or not bothered to check your e-mail.moneko wrote:ding yesterday ~5pm PST

Re: Yale 2011 applicants
Waitlist here as well. Did anyone else try to send the form through e-mail and get that automated reply that says they cannot respond to individual requests? Does that mean I need to send it another way or did they still get it and that just happens no matter what?

You're right. I came across as a douche. It just upsets me to see people go to great lengths to devise rationalizations for dings and other insignificant things. It's just a ding. Not that big a deal. Now go enjoy HLS!subtle wrote:Your post reeks of douchiness. Who cares if what moneko says is true or is a defense mechanism?TheFriendlyBarber wrote:Your post reeks of BS. Sorry for being a douche.

Moving on, what do we think is the timeframe for the remaining decisions? I'd really like to know either way before I mail in a deposit somewhere else in a couple days.

Was anyone here accepted with non-punitive Ws on their transcript? I've got a few my freshman year and a few my junior year. Overall GPA is 3.74 (Yes, I know it's low for YLS).

Seconded on this question. Was expecting a decision today but not sure that's happening. When will the misery end? Who else is still waiting to hear?juliachild-ish wrote:Moving on, what do we think is the timeframe for the remaining decisions? Re: Yale 2011 applicants
I'm still waiting on Y/H/S plus NYU, Columbia, and Northwestern. This is so painful. I guess that's what I get for applying at the last minute.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
