It hurts my heart to do it, but I think I'll be withdrawing today.

Wake is awesome and I loved that they took a chance on me last year. Such a great school and a wonderful admissions staff. Wish all yall the best of luck and hope someone gets my $.

I want to send a negotiation letter, but I have zero leverage right now, ugh. At the very least I would like free parking or a sweater.

Does anyone know if our scholarships are adjustable for raises in tuition? Or is tuition set for all three?

What exactly is the Fletcher scholarship? Couldn't find any information on their website.

That email was mean that they sent this morning btw.

I get what brose is saying... the title of the email led some people to believe it was the notification of them receiving the Fletcher, not notification that the Fletchers have been awarded.

Ah, I didn't take it that way, because I remember them saying they called fletcher winners.

Me either, i was told everyone would get an email wether you get the scholly or not.

It's usually set for all three years. If you get $20,000 (or whatever amount), that's the amount that will be credited to your account at the beginning of each year. It won't adjust for tuition increases, which occur every year -- meaning that tuition isn't set for all three years. You just have to factor that into the cost of attending.

Just set a scholly negotiation email. Not expecting anything but maybe they'll throw me a couple grand of your cashola! :-p

I spoke with the financial aid staff during ASD last Friday. They're re-evaluating for scholarship offers after April 1st when they receive the rejections from the initial scholarship recipients. . . . I wouldn't worry too much if you haven't received an award yet. They offer scholarships to students through June, so I've been told anyways.

I got the Fletchers denial email yesterday. I just went ahead and withdrew since I couldn't think of another reason I'd want to go. Good luck to everyone who is still debating on whether or not to attend (and those who are still waiting on a decision letter)!

Withdrew after the Fletcher's denial. Kinda sad knowing that I'll definitely be leaving NC after I graduate, but I'm looking forward to a new scene.

So can anyone tell me how you go about talking to the financial aid department to discuss possible scholarship money if you weren't offered any? Should I just send an email to the "general " financial aid email or make time to talk to them direstly at asd this friday?
