As stars burn, I am pulling for you. It would be nice to see another UCF grad at UNC this fall.

Thanks Munoz! =D As of currently, I'll be at Chicago-Kent in the Fall. But I'm riding out the waitlist at University of Illinois (which they've already denied some people off the waitlist, and I'm still standing so that feels good) and I would just kill to hear anything at all from UNC. It'd be great to end up there too!munozfreddy wrote:As stars burn, I am pulling for you. It would be nice to see another UCF grad at UNC this fall.

Has anyone received a "rejection" email, or do they just accomplish this through snail mail?
On a brighter note, how's their gym at the Law School?

There is not gym "at" the law school. There are 3 gyms, 3 pools, and several running trails on campus though. 2 of the gyms and 2 of the pools are right next to the law school

I just want to know!!! I see Tarheel that you have literally been in for the long haul, do the rest of you mind sharing your complete date?tarheel87 wrote:After six long months FINALLY the waitlist email, I'm relieved to be honest.
I wasn't complete until mid-January -- guess that means I have to wait until the very last day for the reject/waitlist?

Yep, no problem. But i guess to answer your question -- the gyms are OK, but they get crowded at times. There's nothing you'd want to do that they don't have

Would you consider UNC over Iowa and UIUC? Speaking of which, how's your decision looking on that front??webbylu87 wrote:so i guess at this point i'm trying to figure out if not having been waitlisted yet is good or bad. i've been complete since december and this waiting is killing me.

And thanks so much for the update scruffs! Sometimes I kick myself for putting off North Carolina until the very end of my cycle (I had this weird idea that while not a shoe-in I had a pretty decent chance with my numbers + the unique essays took some extra time) and then things happen like you and Tarheel getting your response on the same day and I realize when it comes to UNC none of this stuff seems to matter

Re: University of North Carolina 2013
I guess no news is good news today.
I have a question: On the application to UNC, there was a question that asked what other schools I was applying to. I put down a few other NC Law schools, but I never actually ended up applying to them. Yeah, I know, it was pretty silly putting all my eggs into one basket. Do you think I should email UNC and tell them that they were the only school I applied to? Do you think they care? Would it even matter at this point?

I went complete early January. And still nothing. This is ridiculous, I've already submitted my deposit to American.

For those of you who are on the waitlist (I just joined your ranks today), how many of you are staying on and for how long? I mean, if you had already moved and were all set to start at another school and then the day before classes started UNC gave you a call saying you were in--would you drop everything and go to UNC? I ask because my husband and I are having these "fun" conversations right now and I'm just curious how everyone else is dealing with it.

As far as your question goes, it sounds like an exciting scenario--at least you would not call life boring in any respect.
I would think the cost/ranking benefit would be something you would want to seriously consider. If Yale called me on August 29th stating that they made a mistake on my application, and that they had an open seat for me--I would certainly take it.
On the other hand, if I was admitted to Wake now and got accepted to UNC on August 30th--I think I would respectfully decline.

I'm staying on until I sign a lease for my apartment in Winston Salem, only because UNC is so much cheaper than Wake.
I'm not counting on anything though. Last year, of the 350 who stayed on the waitlist they only accepted 23 off of it, and after talking with UNC, they made it very clear that by the time they go to the waitlist they are trying to fill demographics and get as many states and minority/age groups represented as possible. As a white, female, 21 year old in stater, I'm not holding my breath.

UNC has 10 more days to get these decisions out and a ton of "decision pending" people are still hanging out on LSN.
So hopefully huge batches of information will start coming out, as opposed to this "drip, drip" that has been occurring lately.
