This is going to make applicants flock to UVA. I'm really glad to see the issues of BirdLaw finally take flight.

Virginia is really winning me over y'all.
Edit: just realized Robin and Crowe are the same person, which makes this all even better.

Thanks for the comment. My why x essay connects my career goals to UVA law but doesn't touch on a unique aspect of the law school. Could have certainly done what you have suggested but too late for it. Not expecting much.albanach wrote:I was an international student who attended with similar stats, though I was in-state and ED. I was admitted within 24 hours. I think in 2011 admission was a little more cutthroat than today.freekick wrote:International applicant here. Submitted today. LSAT above 75th. Non-reportable GPA: Superior. But the ABA reports suggest internationals shouldn't get too optimistic about UVA.
Do you have anything that makes you stand out as an international applicant - hopefully that's made very clear in your PS. Also, I'd suggest why X statements for every school you apply to - find a way to tie your international experience to something unique about the school.

So I got a considerable scholarship offer (not a Dillon) that is contingent on maintaining a 2.3. Anyone have any insight on how difficult that is at UVA? I know a lot of people say to ignore a scholarship offer if a GPA requirement is attached.

Getting a 2.3 at UVA would require considerable effort and specialness. That GPA requirement is effectively nonexistent.dddddd90 wrote:So I got a considerable scholarship offer (not a Dillon) that is contingent on maintaining a 2.3. Yeah I have the same offer and my understanding is that if you have a 2.3 you should be dropping out, not worrying about your scholarship- curve is a 3.3 average I believe. Basically it's a "if you don't literally fail you keep this scholarship" offer.dddddd90 wrote:So I got a considerable scholarship offer (not a Dillon) that is contingent on maintaining a 2.3. I've also read somewhere that professors at T14s very rarely hand out Cs, so I don't think a 2.3 is something to worry about.theboringest wrote:Yeah I have the same offer and my understanding is that if you have a 2.3 you should be dropping out, not worrying about your scholarship- curve is a 3.3 average I believe. Does anybody know about how long I should expect to hear back from my interview? I interviewed with Grace on 1/13. 164/3.98/non-URM.

Does UVA normally stick to the 15 business day response for ED applicants? I'm on day 11 with no interview request...should I assume its a ding/waitlist?

I got in via status checker the next day, but during the interview, my interviewer said that decision times vary and that it could take up to a couple of weeks.youknowsimone wrote:Does anybody know about how long I should expect to hear back from my interview? Did you receive scholly info with acceptance or have you recently gotten it? I was admitted back in November and am hoping for some money but have yet to hear anything.dddddd90 wrote:So I got a considerable scholarship offer (not a Dillon) that is contingent on maintaining a 2.3. Same boat, similar stats. Either they're gonna WL us, I guess for yield protection, or they're just taking a bit longer than most schools. My guess is still the latter. Definitely keep hoping, imo.sandyeggo wrote:Is anyone else still waiting for what seems like a lifetime for an interview request? Submitted 11/1, complete 11/2, and my most recent under review date is 12/2. I'm in between 50&75 for both LSAT and GPA and have already been accepted to several similarly/arguably better ranked schools. I know people in similar timeline situations finally received interview requests around mid-January but as February gets closer I'm starting to really worry that I haven't... Is there any hope left?

I am in a similar position except UR 11/8 and predicting I will be be waitlisted near the end of the cycle. This seems to happen to applicants every year who aren't selected by Feb. with a few outliers.sandyeggo wrote:Is anyone else still waiting for what seems like a lifetime for an interview request? I've been UR2 since 12/12. It's probably not going to turn out well, considering how quickly I have heard from other schools.sandyeggo wrote:Is anyone else still waiting for what seems like a lifetime for an interview request? I got my interview request like around 6 days after it went review and then got in after 7ish business days. Remember it's 15 business days and not 15 days, so you still definitely have hope!
