Scholly offer! Pretty low but honestly God bless Chicago for giving me anything at all. Haha

Do the scholly offers include need-based aid? Or will we have need-based aid added to our current offers later?

Half scholly! Not enough to drag me away from NYU after this week though

Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Hi everyone, I was wondering if yall can help me out. I got accepted on the 4th of May and I just got my scholarship info which said I will be getting $45,000 merit based scholarship. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they had any success in negotiating their financial aid packages and if so how they went about doing it and how much they were willing to increase the aid?
My scores are 3.91/170 and minority first generation professional status.

Does anyone know if University of Chicago stops considering people for need-based aid once they are awarded a certain amount of merit aid?
Also, do Chicago's need and merit aid always come together, or can they be awarded separately at different times?

Does anyone have tips for a Doctoroff interview?? Also, if you have a merit scholly interview, does Chicago wait to send you any other scholarship offers?

Based on the wording of my email, I would assume that what we were awarded is all we are getting (so need based is included). If someone else wants to correct me though I would love to find out more aid may be coming soon!lolRCscrewyou wrote:Do the scholly offers include need-based aid? I'm pretty sure this is right, but I cannot recall why I think that.skimmilk wrote:Based on the wording of my email, I would assume that what we were awarded is all we are getting (so need based is included). Waitlisted last week. I was out of town and didn't check my e-mail. Probably going to withdraw.

They go out on a rolling basis. Website says it'll take about a month for recent admits.t14ohlehdoit wrote:Got accepted last week. Have all merit emails gone out yet

Just had my interview - gave some weird answers, am on a bunch of cold medicine, and was sweating buckets...but I think it went ok! No new questions, just the ones mentioned earlier in the thread (which I maybe should have prepared more rigorously). Good luck to all the other folks interviewing in the next few weeks!
