What Why Harvard essay? Did I forget to do something? Is this why I'm not getting in?applemaroon wrote:It's ok. We can throw the biggest pity party for ourselves. I'm thinking we can sit around a bonfire and drunkenly do dramatic readings of our Why Harvard essay.

Ah, okay.Lavitz wrote:No. If I had received it, I would have immediately shared all the details with everyone. If adcomms are lurking, they already know who I am. The only reason I used that roundabout method was because I was asked not to share details.cslouisck wrote:So, Lavitz, is it safe to assume that you also received that phone call?
I expect this means I'm not getting in. Oh well.

Maybe they are trying to secure those with higher numbers to maintain their medians before they decide how many peeps with lower numbers and strong softs they can afford to admit? If that's the case then those of us that fit the latter profile are probably going to have to wait a longer while...helix23 wrote:hmm calling the big numbers?

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
Based on who received them and the questions they were asked, I don't think it looks too good for me, specifically. I guess that's still all I can say.cslouisck wrote:Ah, okay.Doesn't seem like there's enough info about these new calls to get an understanding of their import yet, though--or, more precisely, the import of not receiving one. Sooo... there's hope?
Yeah sure.applemaroon wrote:Are you coming to my bonfire party or not?

Did these mystery calls only go out to Pre-WL JS1ers? (On my phone, otherwise I'd cross reference the doc).

So those who didn't receive a call can give up hope right? Because ppl who get in get a jsb first right?

Re: Harvard Waitlist 2013
Not necessarily. It's a strange cycle. JS1bs used to be just for people who had their original JS1 before being WL'd. This time, they're also calling people they just interviewed. This may mean that they're calling all the people they plan to accept, or it may mean nothing.shakespeare wrote:So those who didn't receive a call can give up hope right? With that said, it's 5PM and I haven't received one, so

Unless everyone who got these mysterious JS1bs is keeping them a secret, there's not enough here to account for the size the admit wave is probably going to be.
