I can't decide which is worse to assume: that my app is collecting dust on a professor's desk before they slap a 2 on it and call it a day, or that I'm WL bound.

Tell me about it. I was in Connecticut this past weekend for Easter with my entire extended family. Probably got that question about 70 times. Then, two relatives who live/work in the 203 area code suggested they might call me soon just to mess with me (I don't have their phone numbers stored in my phone). I implied that I might never speak to them again...

I'm originally from the 203 and have a 203 number, and I am happy to offer my services if anyone wants to undergo the torture I've been going through for the past 4 months. This poor man called me looking for his doctor last week...

Lessons include:

LOL I would like to get back at my fiancé for his failure to clean up after our dog this morning. Please call him and pretend that you are from the Yale Law School. I think that he is far more excited about the prospect of my attending Yale than even I am. I just want to see him go nuts with joy and call a broker to put the house on the market and start packing. And then his disappointment. That will teach him to take the puppy out on time when it's his turn.

Nope. I think it's just because the cycle is so close to the end, and they're trying to save time.

I know I'm a new poster to the group, but for those still without an answer, don't give up hope! I spoke to a few friends at YLS recently, all of whom applied in the last week before the deadline during their cycles, and for the most part heard they got in just days before the admit days.

Well where are you going? Announce it similar to an entitled 18 year old signing a sports scholarship. This really is TLS's destiny.

She makes no real secret of the fact she goes to undergrad there, so I'd imagine that she doesn't hate Yale, just wants a change

That is my biggest concern about YLS, yeah... no one wants to be that graduate who hangs around near the UG campus after graduation!

I can't blame you. I wouldn't want to be at my undergrad for another three years, and since you already have a Yale degree, it sort of makes sense to diversify (although less so than if this weren't a professional degree). Also (although this is sort of a shallow reason) you don't have to feel guilty about passing up the Yale name/ old boy's club stamp of approval, and can just go where you feel you'll be happiest.

I think that going to Yale, then Harvard, rather than Yale, Yale, is far better. Intellectual diversity is an important value, and a genuine market plus. It shows that you can operate at a high level in markedly different environments.
