Yeah well, as someone who was passed over I do not know why I am getting excited at all at this point when I see a page jump but still for some reason I do. But of course this thread almost never disappoints with regards to page jumps being due to irrelevant stuff.

A) we r on an anon internet forum, imho, this is equivalent to IM. there's really no difference between the way i chat n the way people abbreviate stuff like HYS and IMHO or IBTL....if ur gonna criticise the way i right, i suggest u begin with all these jargons and abbreviations to which TLS has devoted many threads to and start telling everyone who uses these abbv to stop as well.

B) that's kinda the pt of my joke...so..yah, watevs

This is not equivalent to IM. And guess what? Non-annoying people don't write that way on IM either. Using "ur" and no capitalization and constant ellipses and writing "right" instead of "write" just makes you look dumb and childish. But hey, write however you want. I generally don't read a post that requires as much effort to understand as yours.

I am no fan of this style of writing either (it seems like it would take more effort for an intelligent person to write than to do so the conventional way), but relax! It's just a message board... no need to get all uptight about it.

And really, derangedwang can't be that dumb or childish if he convinced KB to let him into Harvard.

I agree with the majority that our friend Sir Wang's posts are a bit annoying, but less because of their content and more because they're kind of hard on the eyes. A lot of people (including myself) often don't capitalize on message boards out of habit from using word processors that auto-capitalize for you, but using "r" for "are" and "right" for "write" is pretty unforgivable even on a casual message board.

So I know this thread has a great thing going right now, and I hate to do this, but I have a question regarding Harvard's admissions.

Say we submitted late October, and haven't heard anything back as yet. I'm hoping that because this cycle may be different than in the past and that because it's definitely still early there isn't much use in stressing. But does getting passed by on interviews not bode well? Is it common to hear back later in the cycle with anything besides a waitlist or rejection if you submitted early?
