my application has been processing since the 23rd of November. I am getting anxious and even worried now. Thoughts?

Processing since November 16th. This doesn't bode well.

I think everyone who submitted after the EA deadline is still stuck processing, I know I am. I'm just not bothering to check my Cornell Status updater for a while because its too frustrating. Hang in there, I'm sure we'll see movement within the next two weeks or so. Just have to wait for them to deal with all the EA applications. I'm pretty sure they received far more of them than they were expecting this year (which might also be an explanation for why we're seeing so many deferrals; they don't have enough of an admissions staff to get through all the apps by the deadline).

I think they were pretty strict this year about keeping EA to people who submitted by 11/1.

I remember checking a box for "I want to be considered for Early Action" on the Cornell app. It was so long ago, though, I could be wrong.

Yeah, that box was confusing. I think on the app it says that if you submit by the 15th you can be considered for early action, but their website says you must have submitted by the 1st and have all information received by the 15th... or something like that. Can't remember, maybe I'm wrong.

Now I am just confused. Those seem like admit numbers especially being a URM. This is giving me zero confidence. Each day I don't hear back, I assume it is a victory since I am still standing. But maybe this is just the long inevitable delay to my deferral/rejection. Ugh

Yeah, that box was confusing. I think on the app it says that if you submit by the 15th you can be considered for early action, but their website says you must have submitted by the 1st and have all information received by the 15th... or something like that. Can't remember, maybe I'm wrong.

My info wasn't completely submitted until late November and I was considered for EA (and have gotten my decision)

Do you have an arrest record? Did you send in a cursory application/PS/DS? Are you actually an URM?

Sorry to freak everyone out haha. I am a Mexican urm. I think I am having a lot of trouble with top 15 schools because I had to disclose 5 tickets/arrests on my apps, a few of which were crimes of moral turpitude. Also, my ps was nothing special. Feel free to pm me if u have questions

Be prepared for a long wait, and good luck! I was among a handful of EA deferrals -> admits who heard back MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND last year. I think prior years, they've been able to take a lot more reserve candidates than they were last year. Last year I'm pretty sure only a handful of initially deferred EA candidates were ultimately accepted late in the spring. If you have your heart set on Cornell, LET THEM KNOW! Do not be afraid to bombard the admissions office with letters of interest. And be prepared to deposit somewhere else while waiting to hear back.
