I was waitlisted with a 170 and 3.88. Guess they wanted me to write a "Why UVa?" or LOCI...

maybe they are mind readers? It seems that UVa has been really protective of their yield this cycle (don't know if they have traditionally been like this).

woww. aren't those around r6's numbers? and he got in? they probably didn't admit you because they didn't have the scholly money they figured you'd want to get out of them or else you wouldn't go.

Yeah, r6 and I have very similar numbers. However, I think his application overall may be more diverse and interesting than mine, in addition to the fact that I am still an undergrad w/o real work experience. TBH, if I had his scholly, I would have attended barring an S or H acceptance. Actually, I would have gone with even less. The thing is, at this point I cannot tell UVA I would definitively go if accepted, because I have already told (and meant it) to another school.
