I finally got a status checker this morning.

"Your JD application was processed on February 21, 2011
and is currently being considered for Regular Decision"

I wonder how long until they make the decision...

I got it ~1 month after submission.

It has to be a typo. One can't technically graduate with a 1.5

UT will consider all your competing offers ONCE, so don't get impatient. They'll let you know what to do and when.

Yeah, if you're getting nervous, call FinAid and ask about the process and deadline. Basically, you mail in copies of all your other offer letters, and they reevaluate your package. But when I applied, they were very clear that it was a one-time deal.

Not true. Scholly letter comes after acceptance package. Usually by a week or so.

You applied the day before the deadline and you already heard back from them??? Did you apply 1/31?

I heard back in about 6 weeks so I can see someone hearing back in 4. Texas seems to move a lot faster than many law schools.

Well, it took me a full six weeks, but I just got the call! She mentioned that I'll be receiving a scholarship offer but didn't specify an amount. I've always heard that Austin is a really awesome place to live, so now I'm just hoping they give me enough money to justify choosing UT. Exciting!

I love Texas and will likely attend, but you should probs go to Harvard (or Yale if you're admitted).

Well, I would definitely go to Yale if admitted, without a second thought...but there are a lot of things I dislike about Harvard--enough to make me at least look around and consider other options.

That's very valid. If I had the numbers to go to Harvard...I would still think twice about it. Yale seems really great though. I hope you get in!

Would that be the date you're provided access to the status checker? If so than it was on 2/17. I never received any communication from them aside from this and an initial email indicating receipt of my application. (And today's phone call.)

It's been ~a month. Thinking it could have been lost in the mail, or maybe the fact that I haven't completed student loan exit counseling as an undergrad may have put a bar on my info. Should I call the finaid office and ask about scholarship info, or wait for ASD?
