maybe you could call them and tell them this? Not sure if that would help at all, but tell them if you get accepted you can't deposit until you come back, and maybe they could note it on your file or something. I'd be happy to give them a check in advance. They could deposit it immediately upon acceptance. I applied at some good programs, including some with better rankings. I didn't realize until afterward that I'm not really interested in attending those programs. Even at the same cost, I'd rather attend UNC. I understand the importance of taking care during the admissions process; it's just hard waiting - and harder still to know that I might not get in.beccabea wrote:If you haven't heard back yet, you won't be expected to pay your seat deposit on April 15. I called the admissions office yesterday and asked if they were still admitting students or only sending out waitlists/rejections now- they said yes, they still have admissions offers to send out. I'm not going to get my hopes up b/c I'm OOS and don't have great #s for UNC. At this point, I'm just hoping for a WL. So they've accepted 335 applicants out of roughly 3000 (I think that was the number someone posted earlier) and haven't rejected anyone? No rejections at all? For god's sake, if they can look at an application and be fairly certain they don't want the person, they should put the poor guy/girl out of his/her misery, or at least into the next stage of recovering from it. Congratulations! You should join the UNC Class of 2014 thread, though it has been somewhat slow there of late. It is always good to hear about new acceptances.
