Yep, that's what I've been told as well.
On a side note, rumor is circulating that
Harrison Barnes will return for his sophomore year. Again, this is just a rumor, but it seems to be picking up steam.

maybe you could call them and tell them this? Not sure if that would help at all, but tell them if you get accepted you can't deposit until you come back, and maybe they could note it on your file or something. Doing this would also show you really want to go there, as you're trying to inform them that you're leaving.

I'd be happy to give them a check in advance. They could deposit it immediately upon acceptance. I applied at some good programs, including some with better rankings. I didn't realize until afterward that I'm not really interested in attending those programs. Even at the same cost, I'd rather attend UNC. I understand the importance of taking care during the admissions process; it's just hard waiting - and harder still to know that I might not get in.

Has UNC rejected anyone yet this cycle? Looking at LSN it seems like they had sent out a batch or two of rejects by this time last year.

I am an excited new admit (got an acceptance email last Friday/no package as of yet), but unfortunately am from out-of-state. I got a really generous scholarship from Wake Forest/Nova (I'm from Philly) so getting no money from UNC would not make logical sense for me financially. UNC was my dream school coming into the whole applications process however....From what I heard Chapel-Hill is awesome....I'll be visiting for the admitted students day next week regardless.

Just an fyi, I called the admissions office today and the lady on the phone told me that they do update the status checker once a day. I know some people were wondering.

Did you get any other details? Like a wave being admitted before the 15th or something like that?

So does anyone think they are done with acceptances, or will there be another round of admissions before the 15th?
Still stuck at complete.

I'm also still at complete. I hope they're not done with acceptances, but I have little hope at this point.. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised. Good luck to ya.

I called the admissions office yesterday and asked if they were still admitting students or only sending out waitlists/rejections now- they said yes, they still have admissions offers to send out. Unfortunately didn't anymore details than that, but hope it's somewhat helpful.

I'm not going to get my hopes up b/c I'm OOS and don't have great #s for UNC. At this point, I'm just hoping for a WL. UNC is my dream school, so, if I'm WLed, I'll most definitely ride it out..

I spoke with admissions earlier -- they say they have accepted 335 applicants thus far, and it sounds like they will be waiting til after April 15th to accept any more, with very few exceptions (they want to see how many kids actually pay the deposit). They also told me that they have rejected exactly zero applicants.

So they've accepted 335 applicants out of roughly 3000 (I think that was the number someone posted earlier) and haven't rejected anyone? I guess they will be sending out a lot of WL and rejects in the coming weeks.

No rejections at all? For god's sake, if they can look at an application and be fairly certain they don't want the person, they should put the poor guy/girl out of his/her misery, or at least into the next stage of recovering from it. It can't possibly be that much extra work.

Congratulations! You should join the UNC Class of 2014 thread, though it has been somewhat slow there of late. It is always good to hear about new acceptances. My fingers are crossed for everyone!
