No, I think you guys misunderstood me. My status checker says "application received" and the date, nothing about complete even. So I have called and emailed, and I got an email about "your file is under review, the process takes a while so be patient. I will add this interest email to your file." All my email to them said "hey, what's the word, I have other options with deposits coming up, but Pitt is still my numero uno, can I get a response?" The response seemed canned and really fake/general.

Should I even consider Pitt anymore at this point? Got my app in in early-February, but Jesus. Maybe this is a sign to take my money to Ga State now. The admissions department should have an article on ATL, not the CSO.

You applied in late Feb and are complaining? Not sure why its Pitt versus Ga State for you either. Complete different regional markets with virtually no chance of one school placing you to work in the other's market.

No no no, not complaining. I was just wondering if the fact that it hasn't changed to "complete" or "under review" on the status checker meant anything. I wasn't looking for an instant reply from the school on whether or not I got in, I was just fretting it being bad that my status checker wasn't updated, that's all. Pitt is #1. GSU is #2. I like both for different reasons, but that's not the point. I was just curious as to if I should believe the lady simply telling me my file is being review if the status checker doesn't say so. I wasn't complaining, and yes, I know I was late in the game, thanks for the 1L wisdom pointing that out.

I know someone who did that with another school (angry e-mail) and got a decision the next day in the mail - a rejection.

And VTOrange - I applied on January 19th or so and I was about to call and ask if they had everything and then it changed to UR on February 17th. I would say after a month if it doesn't change to UR or a decision, then call again or e-mail and just say you're concerned that it hasn't changed.

How about a stern email. A "pitt is my number one choice, but I have scholly deadlines to accept and I cant wait for you any more" email.

The second part ("I can't wait for you anymore") would probably be much more effective if replaced with "I would love to attend your fine institution, but Emory has offered me a substantial scholarship and I am required to decide by April XX. Although I plan on attending Pitt if accepted, I do not want to lose my Emory scholarship in the case I am not admitted to Pitt. I understand that your office is in the middle of its peak season, but I would be very grateful if a decision could be rendered on my file before Emory's April XX deadline. Best Regards, Bport."

After who knows how long Pitt's student lounge finally opened a couple of days ago. For anyone who is still planning on visiting you should definitely check it out, its easily the nicest place in the school right now.

I think it would be wise to be an admitted student before you show up at an admitted students' day.

I mean I wasnt going to just show up. I was planning on writing them an email asking if it would be ok. I guess my real question is would that email come across as a bad thing?

I don't know if it would come across as bad, but I would ask for a campus visit/tour instead.

Does Pitt only have one Admitted Students Day or is there one over the summer too?

I just saw one, but im not for sure on that. Well I emailed them and asked if it would be inn inappropriate to come that day because it was really the only day that i could make the drive. Im showing up regardless, I know how to walk. Ill get around just fine.
