Thanks for the kind words everyone. I was reluctant to post such specific information regarding my grades, but I needed to vent a little bit. This isn't the worst thing I've been through, and I'll survive.

couple of things:

1. I have a friend who owns ranch land in Texas, and heard about my scheme to get residency by buying land in Texas. He set up a subdivision on his property and is selling plots for about $2000 that revert back to him in three years. If you're interested, let me know via PM and I'll get you in touch with him. If you exploit the loophole, you can get resident tuition after 12 months that you purchase the land and live in TX for 12 months -- I plan on getting resident tuition for 2L and 3L years. I make no guarantees as to whether the loophole will remain open, or if it even works. But if you can get through it, you have the opportunity to save a lot of $$$.

2. Jazz, I'm sorry to hear that your search isn't going well. I'm lucky enough to get a PI job in a sector that I'm really interested in, but it's certainly not a paying gig. Also, my grades aren't all that great either. I really don't think your 1L summer job hunt in our economy is at all emblematic of what your prospects will be like this fall at 2L OCI, especially if you keep your grades up. There aren't all that many slots out there for 1Ls, especially considering that there are a ton of 2Ls who don't have gigs yet. I played it safe and didn't even really count on the firm route. Also, the small/midsize firm reception is coming up -- there will probably be more opportunities after that.

It's not your head cold - I can't seem to find anything either. I called the office this morning and they said it would be mid-to-late afternoon, but that's come and gone. Anyone have any other news regarding ASD signups?

I've noticed that the tuition rates for returning students are different for that of incoming students. Does anyone know why this is and if this sort of thing will continue?

I called the admissions office, and apparently you take less classes that add up to 5k less per year.

Jazz, from everything I've read you are a lock at at LEAST one of HYS. I'd be shocked if you didn't get into Harvard. The yahoo transfer group shows people finishing top of their class in the 50's and 60's and getting into harvard.

I was held from ED a few months ago and sent in an LOCI shortly after. I still have not heard back from them. Is anyone else in the same boat as me? (i.e. held from ED and hot heard a peep!).

They said they would have a final decision by april, but should I do anything else to help them make a decision?

I'm in the same boat, I sent a LOCI a few weeks ago and have heard nothing. I was held in early December. I'm wondering if they just haven't looked at my/our apps yet.

I hope it works out that way! My sister went to law school at UT and loved it so it's my top choice.

is anyone else applying for the equal justice scholarship? i'm trying to figure out of my LORs can come from the same people who did my general admissions LORs. And I'm assuming I should have the recommenders send the letters directly to the program...?

I got the $76,500 scholly today! Came through snail mail in a small letter.

Very bummed that I won't be at ASW. They scheduled it the same weekend as Michigan's.
