No fucking joke!
Edit: Well, not for me. but it worked for Pozzo. that's a 50% success rate on a JS1. I'll take those odds any day.

Just got an email with a joke from my dad. "THIS IS NICE DAD BUT IT IS NOT THE JS1 I WAS HOPING FOR!"

Congrats to JS1s today! For anyone who's had one, when do interviewers usually connect with you on Skype? I know it was mentioned earlier in the thread but was wondering if anyone's interviewers did it immediately before the Skype time?

I just got JS1 over 3 months after going complete! I had assumed I was getting a WL/ding. Is it rare to get the invite after this long, or does this tend to happen later in the cycle?

For me, I logged into Skype approximately an hour before my interview time and received a request to 'add contact' about half an hour before. Didn't accept it until maybe 10 minutes before.helpaKJDout wrote:Congrats to JS1s today! For anyone who's had one, when do interviewers usually connect with you on Skype? This might be too optimistic of me, but the application deadline is tomorrow. Maybe some of us less attractive applicants (reverse splitter KJD for my part) will finally get considered for JS1s once HLS sees the whole applicant pool? It seems like a possibility, given how low LSAT scores are this cycle and how slow decision-making in general seems to be across the board.

I am almost certain we are all too optimistic. But I can't help but hope! I'll probably start being a little more realistic after one or two rounds of JS1s post-app deadline. Good luck to all.

Congrats to all the new JS1s!
I hope the JS1 wave doesn't mean that the office has its hands too full for a JS2 wave as well................

JS-1 invite today. Somewhat surprised, considering I submitted my application the day it opened. My GPA was way below 25%, so I'm pretty happy to at least get to talk to someone.

got my JS1!
What percentage of JS1 invites make JS2? I've heard 75% from somewhere, not sure if it's accurate.

I received the request about 10 minutes before the interview and I immediately accepted. They didn't call until the actual time the interview started.crookedsmile wrote:For me, I logged into Skype approximately an hour before my interview time and received a request to 'add contact' about half an hour before. Yeah I've heard its like ~900/~1200. But I'm not entirely sure how accurate that is or where that number even came from.prepies04 wrote:got my JS1!

The average LSN-er has GPA and/or LSAT stats>>the "normal" population.CHyde wrote:As of today, there are roughly 250 HLS applicants on LSN with a 170+. How representative is LSN to the general population? Essentially, how many folks do you think apply to HLS with a 170+?

The ~900 comes from the number of offers of admissions, and I believe the ~1200 comes from interviews with the admissions office. I think that's fairly accurate.VapidP wrote:Yeah I've heard its like ~900/~1200. But I'm not entirely sure how accurate that is or where that number even came from.prepies04 wrote:got my JS1!

There are more than 2,000 applicants with a 170+, so I would guess at least 1,500 of them apply to HLS.CHyde wrote:As of today, there are roughly 250 HLS applicants on LSN with a 170+. There are about 750 applicants with a 173+ and based on previous trends at least 400 of them will attend HYS.
