I didn't find this forum until after I applied (after the Dec LSAT) and didnt realize how important it was to have the optional essay, but dont know if it would be looked at as a negative to submit after the fact. Thanks in advance!

I mean if you have a legitimate reason to submit one, go for it, then it can't hurt you. But if you're just writing it to write it, then I wouldn't bother cause that will show in the content of the why penn essay.

If only I could be cometpizzaman right now. I have a better GPA and same LSAT. This is my number 1 law school choice and I wrote a Why Penn essay. I want this so bad, I'm stressing out.

I recieved an email from Penn on 1/12 asking for Fall 2016 grades. I sent in the relevant information (as well as a letter of interest) the next day. Is there any expected timeline for when I'd hear back? Went UR2 1/6. Also status tracker had changed go application under further review email

Dinged

LSAT = 75th
GPA = unreported (international)

No why Penn (think this is what killed me) would HIGLY recommend those on WL to send LOCI asap. Also could be that they just don't accept internationals? 0 unreported GPAs on 2016 509s

Anyways, good luck to the rest of you folks!

In the status checker, does anybody's "Requirements List" show up red (like something is missing from your application)?

I have my standard requirements checked off (CAS report, optional essays, PS, resume), yet there are two bullet points that are not checked (quoted exactly below):

(1) "Early Decision Agreement..."
(2) "only needed if applied Early Decision"

FWIW, I applied regular decision, not ED.

It's been like this for a while now and I haven't contacted the admissions office yet because my application has been complete (and because of the disclaimer at the bottom of the page: Applicants whose files are incomplete will be notified via email of any required items that are missing from their application)

I've been UR2 since 1/9 (which I know really means nothing in terms of when I should expect a decision), but I've sat through a few rounds of acceptances, dings, and WLs and want to make sure it's not because of some technical error. Anybody else seeing this kind of thing?

Waitlisted. LSAT > 75th, 25th < GPA < 50th. Didn't write a Why Penn but submitted a diversity statement. UR2 on 1/17.

mine looks like this too, i don't think it's an issue I think it's just shitty coding where it turns red even if you applied RD if you didn't turn in literally every piece of paperwork (even though you intentionally didn't turn in the ED form)

Given how long some folks have been waiting, I wouldn't be stressed.

In via phone call! I was wondering if anyone else got a phone call but no email? I'm dying to access the admitted students page.

Also, LSAT = median, GPA < 50. Applied 12/7, UR on 1/17, which never changed the whole time.

Kiddos who are planning to apply for the Toll Scholarship, what are you planning to do for your 2 minute video?

We only have 2 weeks before these apps are due, and I'm not at all good at making videos, so I want to just answer the questions as if it was a pre-recorded interview. But that's not creative, so I'm afraid it will reflect badly on me :( Anyone else feeling a little confused as to what to do?

+1, in the same boat -- Similarly bad/unfamiliar with video-making, and don't have anything but a phone/comp to record. There's one thread I'm thinking of using via pictures, but I'm on the fence about that one, even.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
