I'm surprised there was only 1 TLS JS1 reporting in. Can someone who has access to the schedule thing see if all the interview slots that opened up today got filled?
I hope they're gearing up for another wave tomorrow

Does anybody when ASW is? I need to act now rather than later so that I won't be denied the days by my employer haha.

I fear you're correct.texasellewoods wrote:Looking at last year I don't think there is going to be another wave tomorrow...
12/15
1/20
2/2
2/3
2/4
were the first five waves, with one person reporting a 1/28 acceptance and one on 2/11
The one bit of hope I have is the fact that this seemed like a very limited wave; the January wave last year started at 10am and lasted 4 or 5 hours, whereas this one started at 3:30pm and only last about an hour. However, they've had the same cadence as last year, but a week earlier.

Was surprised at the relatively calm tone of your post, but then I noticed your username...yaliehopeful wrote:Got my JS2, had my JS1 at the beginning of December. Black Canadian male, this has definitely been one of the most exciting weeks of my life.
For what it's worth I started a bit of a debate for the merits of HLS vs. YLS on the page 45 ITT (toward the bottom - a few comments back and forth into page 47). Will gladly restart it now to try to convince you to come to Harvard - especially if there are no more JS2s tomorrow.

Hahaha, the Harvard v Yale debate is always a fun one, both are excellent schools and my parents are going to try to pressure me to pick Harvard over Yale. I told them at the beginning of the cycle that if I got Yale that I was going, no questions asked, so I think they were low key hoping I wouldn't get in, but unbeknownst to them Stanford was my second choice haha. However, despite my strong preference for Y, I know they'll force me to go down to Cambridge for ASW in the hopes that i'll change my mind. Nothing against Harvard, amazing school with some of the brightest faculty and students in the world, has an amazing alumni network, is unequivocally the most well known law school in the world and offers an excellent legal education, but I think Yale is just a better fit for me. I'd like to pursue a career in academia and I think Yale edges out Harvard in that regard, (although I know that pursuing such an endeavour is in no way preclusive for Harvard grads), further I prefer the intimate learning environment YLS offers among other things. I don't care about lay prestige, nor do I have a strong interest in working in big law/i-banking/consulting/pursuing a career in politics or anything of that nature, at least not at this particular juncture..

If you have a strong preference for academia, then I'm not going to try to convince you - Yale definitely places better (although if this was moot court I would gladly take up the fight from other approachesyaliehopeful wrote:cantorb wrote:Was surprised at the relatively calm tone of your post, but then I noticed your username...yaliehopeful wrote:Got my JS2, had my JS1 at the beginning of December. Just curious - have you gotten accepted at Yale or Stanford yet?

Hilde I take it as a foregone conclusion that you're getting in - you are the OP of the thread and adcomms hang out here enough to see your devotion (although you did admit to picking choice 2...). We're just trying to put together the best class possible, with top numbers and less last-minute off the waitlist (most of whom don't hang out on TLS anyway), to pull away from Stanford and maybe even begin a push at the top spot, not to mention improve the academia and federal clerkship numbers for those interested in that.Hildegard15 wrote:I forbid any of y'all with sick numbers from persuading other people with YS numbers to come to HLS and steal my spot off the waitlist. New poll! Yes, cantorb and Li'l Sebastian, I promise I will do your boring poll in a couple of weeks. Ask and you shall receive, but I wanted one last fun one.

Interviewed recently. I was told to not expect any decisions for a while, as they are very busy. I'm guessing late Feb/early March for recent JS1s?

Yes as well. Invite on 10/20, interview on 11/3, radio silence since. I also know of one particularly handsome OP of the Stanford thread who was first wave JS1 and is still waiting on a JS2 (or at least hasn't posted here about it).JedBartlet2016 wrote:Yupkennj wrote:Hey all - any first wave JS1s still waiting for that beautiful JS2?JS1 Invite 10/20, JS1 on 11/4
