Just got an email today headed with the date January 15 saying my application is now complete, I submitted my app on Jan 25 and received the acknowledgement email the same day...anybody have any idea what could be happening here? ~21 days seems like a long time to go from submit to complete, not to mention the weird date on the email I just got :?

In, y'all :D

A word of encouragement to folks who haven't walked the straight and narrow their whole lives: I'm a high school dropout with a very complicated family history. While hard work and commitment does not always guarantee success in this country, it certainly pays off when applying to law school. I worked my butt off, acquired a GED, performed well in community college, earned my way into a top-notch liberal arts college, taught high school math for three years, destroyed the LSAT, and now I am here... in at Penn!

Congrats to everyone who's in and best wishes to those still waiting.

I received the same e-mail dated January 15th, and submitted my app on January 21st. I'm assuming they just forgot to update the date in the header.

I only went UR2 this week so the odds of getting a call are basically 0% but that won't stop me from thinking about it all day

So I'm hoping for a bit of advice. I'm above both 75ths, applied in mid November and went UR2 12/24. I'm really interested in attending Penn and don't want to get YPed. I really need merit-based aid, so it's not as good if I just get in off the waitlist. I'm also international (Canada) which maybe counts against me in terms of YP but I feel like I have been waiting a decent amount of time with good numbers and am hoping to somehow avoid getting Wled (or dinged). I wrote a why penn but is it silly for me to send an early LOCI before they waitlist me? And if I do, do I just write the same kinds of things I wrote in my why penn?

Thanks :)
Obviously not an expert, but I think sending an LOCI wouldn't be unreasonable with your numbers. Given you sent a Why Penn it makes a bit less sense; if you do send one, keep it very short and simply say that you remain very interested in Penn and it's one of your top choices. You might want to look up how open Penn specifically is to LOCIs, or you could call them to ask. Others may disagree, but my feeling is it could help and it's almost certainly not going to hurt as long as what you write is short and well-written

Could also try sending fall grades if you have them or updates (job/extracurriculars/etc).
