Appreciate it! I guess, if it's done with tact and respect it can't hurt trying it. I'm sure negotiating season will kick off here in a couple of weeks once more schools release the bulk of their $$$

They don't negotiate, but they don't mind knowing about any other offers and might take them into consideration in updating a merit scholarship.spauldingno wrote:gazorpazorp wrote:I haven't tried yet, but based on lurking these boards & lawschoolnumbers.com these past few years, it's definitely worth a try.spauldingno wrote:Question: Michigan states in their merit scholarship offer letter they do not negotiate and/or adjust their award amount. Re: Michigan Law School C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-16)
Just found out a couple of days ago that an administrative error on UMich's end kept me from receiving an email they sent almost a month ago asking for more information about my application. Considering the time of year and that offers (and especially $) have really been going out, I am pretty freaked that this big delay is gonna cause me to miss the boat. Anyone have thoughts on where we are at this point with respect to offers and money? Are we at the end of both? I don't want to be sad, but it's hard not to considering Michigan is basically in a three-way tie for #1 in my affections.

Well I would hope since it was a problem on their end I assume they would be quite forgiving for both acceptance and money. I think since their application deadline hasn't come yet they still have plenty of spots and at least some money leftfliptrip wrote:Just found out a couple of days ago that an administrative error on UMich's end kept me from receiving an email they sent almost a month ago asking for more information about my application. I was definitely thinking that since it was their mistake, they might cut me some slack. I wouldn't mind at all if they allowed their guilt and shame to turn into a Darrow. That would be just fine, actually.kylethedog wrote:Well I would hope since it was a problem on their end I assume they would be quite forgiving for both acceptance and money. Congrats to the admits! I was admitted earlier this week. When do you think we'll hear back for scholarships? In the meantime, time to really work on FAFSA..

They figured it out when they were getting ready to send me a "WTF?! Why haven't we heard from you?" email. I'm burrowing deeper into my bitter nest over here seeing folks who applied near to the date they first tried to contact me now getting in.doobleykah wrote:How did you find out?fliptrip wrote:I was definitely thinking that since it was their mistake, they might cut me some slack. I'm sharing in your bitterness. I am also seeing people who applied around the same time (1/8) get decisions and according to the status checker I'm still "Incomplete-In Progress" My CAS was complete when I applied so I know none of that was delayed. I also got asked for more info about my app, but I sent that out the day I got the email. All I want is to go complete so at least I know something is moving along!fliptrip wrote:They figured it out when they were getting ready to send me a "WTF?! Why haven't we heard from you?" email. Being complete is overrated, as many of us have been sitting there since November.Johnson1031 wrote:I'm sharing in your bitterness. Glad to hear someone else has also been "complete" since November. I did. I just got admitted last week. Do they send this out to everyone or is this a subtle "you aren't getting any scholarship"Applesauce11 wrote:Anyone else get a weird email from Financial Aid for prospective students this morning?
