Based on LSN profiles of last year, it seems like we're just over half full. Of course, this doesn't account for people in off of the waitlist.

FWIW, the invitation to apply states that the deadline for scholly application is February, so there is a (very small) chance that they would still invite people

i find this hard to believe. I bet they give different deadlines based on when you get admitted. I imagine a ton of qualified candidates applied to cornell in Jan that they would like to pry away from mvp with a full ride. cant imagine they would just point at a arbitrary deadline and let them walk. but im probaly completely wrong. is the deans scholly invite supposed to come in admissions packet? if so, we should know soon based off the numbers of some pending apps.

I think I was in the first wave as well. Didn't get the dean but I got a scholarship offer. Shocked that they are sending those out this early. Now I may be tempted away from Vandy.

Got an email saying that I wasn't awarded the Dean's scholarship, but they offered a $120,000 scholarship instead. Pretty exciting... and tempting.

ETA: They received my essay on January 7th.

Nothing of the sort at the bottom of mine. Do they already know I have no morals?

I just think it's strange... I kind of think of scholarships as schools basically buying LSAT scores and GPA's, not as a temporary loan that's forgivable if you don't get a job. That having been said, since they explicitly state that the scholarship is given with this expectation, I don't think I could, in good conscious, accept the scholarship without intending to repay them eventually if I were able to do so. But I'm not willing to make such a commitment... I don't think. At least not right now.

Here I go over-thinking things again...

ETA: I suppose it does make sense though. After all, I would "only" be paying them about $5,000 a semester, and they need to fund that somehow.
