And, FWIW to anyone still thinking of applying this year or in the future, on my acceptance letter Dean Z wrote something to the effect of: "We really enjoyed reading your personal statement! We agree you'll add a lot of diversity to our student body!" So keep that in mind. Apparently PS's do matter. Unless she was just being froggy.

I'm pretty sure she writes a positive note on everyone's acceptance letter. I'm not saying that the PS doesn't matter, but I don't think you should take this as evidence that Michigan weighs them more heavily than other schools.

Sorry about my delayed reaction. I never said they weighed it more heavily than other schools. I should have qualified my statement, actually. I have 3 acceptances. All three of them have written a note on my acceptance letter. That's not uncommon. But all 3 spoke about my PS. Not sure if that's common or not. But just wanted to throw it out there to current and future applicants. Based on the experience of at least one person, PS's may actually be valuable. So spend the time. Or I could be way of. Just throwing it out there.

Ahhh... IN via the ASW this afternoon!!! I literally stepped off the plane in Hawaii (on a family vacation for Thanksgiving) and checked email. Nothing there, so I checked the ASW, expecting to see the usual red text. But... I'm in!!! I'm trying not to be totally paranoid about it -- if I could access the pretty royal blueness, it means I'm in for sure, right?!
So happy right now -- Michigan is such a wonderful school!!

True, I guess it kinda is all that they can say. They are going to comment on GPA, LSAT or URM status. I suppose "We really like graduates from your UG" or "We like that youre resume had squares instead of circles as bullets." ...

By the way, no idea wtf azg means. Ask Zelda for Gold? If that's it, I feel like the "for" is deserving of it's own letter in the acronym.

I felt the same way. I had to browse around on the ASW page to make sure it wasnt some glitch. I figured if all of the links and such worked, then it must be correct. Also I logged on 2-3x just to make sure. My parents also received the letter in the mail the next day, so that helped assuage my skepticism.

IN via ASW! Exciting!

I applied 10/22, went complete 11/10, and the ASW says my package was mailed 11/23. I only applied for the fall start, and I didn't write a 'Why Michigan' (which I was getting more worried about every day, after reading about how many people here did).

I'm oddly excited about receiving my Michigan flash drive.

Yes android, if you got in you are in. Congratulations man, as someone who has Mich as a top choice I can imagine the feeling. Early morning success, nothing better than coming from the gym and sharing in it (except of course, actually being the one celebrating the victory).
