You should probably hear back soon. And you will be accepted, hands down (unless you're a 70-year-old rapist that just got paroled and want to try your hand at a little M&A @ Skadden). LSN will show you some encouraging anecdotes.PrayingforHYS wrote:Finally in review today after 10 1/2 weeks complete. I've come to find that GPA doesn't matter much. I'd gladly trade .3 GPA points for 2-3 LSAT points, as most people probably would. I guess law schools do the best they can with this flawed system, but ... idk, all seems like a crapshoot to me.JCougar wrote:My guess is that your 3.8 will get you in.PrayingforHYS wrote:Finally in review today after 10 1/2 weeks complete. Hmmm, 3.47, for a 171 vs 3.77 168. I'm not sure which I'd rather have.PrayingforHYS wrote:I've come to find that GPA doesn't matter much. WUSTL's is the first stipend I got that will actually cover the entire trip.

GPA doesn't matter much up until a point. And that point is the school's GPA median. Once you are above that median, there's a lot of schools that will want you, especially if your LSAT is at least in the neighborhood.PrayingforHYS wrote:I've come to find that GPA doesn't matter much. The difference between a 2.9 and a 3.6 is very small, but the difference between a 3.6 and a 3.8 is fairly substantial. Once schools solidify their LSAT medians, they'll look to bolster their GPA, which is the next logical step. From being through this last year, I can tell you that people with high GPAs and LSATs in the mid-160s did pretty well as the cycle moved on. I don't mean to get your hopes up falsely, but I'm confident that you'll get in somewhere good. GPA does mean something.

No, no, it's all good -- I knew what you meant. Idk, I guess it's just a little odd when you see 3.4/168 getting money from Emory, getting a full ride to IU etc, and I haven't heard back from either place. I mean, if it takes the school a month longer to get back to me b/c they want to solidify LSAT stuff before GPA, then I guess it's worth it in the end. But even then, schools usually give out those big scholarships in the first batch or two, so I'm still looking at less $, even if accepted.JCougar wrote:GPA doesn't matter much up until a point. IU, Emory, UGA, WUSTL -- I like all 4 of those schools a LOT, but will it be worth it if I get accepted a month later with no $ vs. a tier 2 state school with $$$? Not sure.

Someone from a past cycle, do scholarships after the first batch tend to be smaller? Looks like people with my numbers have gotten full rides or close to it, but I'm worried that my later acceptance could see a substantial decrease.

This. 3.5/171 probably cracks the T14. 3.77/168 probably doesnt. Three questions on the LSAT outweigh 4 years of work at a substantially higher level.Arbiter213 wrote:if re taking is out of the question, the 171 for sure.PrayingforHYS wrote:Hmmm, 3.47, for a 171 vs 3.77 168. According to LSN, there was someone who got accepted in March with a full ride last year.soccerfreak wrote:Someone from a past cycle, do scholarships after the first batch tend to be smaller? The UIUC one is also 4 times the size and covered in an aluminium shell. That alone made me give them and their scholly some thought. Not enough thought to make WUSTL not trump them easily, but some.Hannibal wrote:But dude.
