Good God I got the application received e-mail on 11/12 and I still haven't gotten anything re: status checker. Is this normal?

+1. I'm at least hoping that this isn't linked at all to our actual application progress, and that we could still be as close to a decision as someone who would have gotten their status checker earlier.Lou9 wrote:I'm in the same boat. How many of us are still left from the 10/26 complete group? I don't think I'm the only one (at least I hope not).

Haha, complete 9/16 ED. I'm expecting to wait a LONG time before I hear a decision, because I think I'll be deferred to regular decisionEntchen wrote:Complete 11/08DreamShake wrote:Right here! Glad to see I'm not the only one left from 10/26 or earlier! Maybe Dean Z just loved our applications so much that she wanted to hold onto them and enjoy them a little longer? I am choosing to be foolishly optimistic

waiiiiiii, you got into NYU? Congrats man! You think it is YP? Aren't you an ED applicant? I guess we will hear within the next week-ish. Here is hoping for some love for all us ED folk.seancooksey07 wrote:Would gladly trade my NYU "Decision letter sent" status for some Dean Z love.

that's totally fine. I got the same email, told them I'm working as an administrative assistant at a magazine and I got in early October. You should be ok, I think they just want to make sure you aren't like, selling drugs for money. Take it as a good sign!silverlake33 wrote:AH! Just received an email from admissions saying that they have closely reviewed my materials and wanted to follow up on a small matter (I quit my job about a half year ago, mostly due to the low salary combined with high cost-of-living) and they want to know what I have been doing since then.
The thing is...I have really not been doing anything special.
Once moving back closer to home, other than completing the LSAT, I've been saving up through a (very) non-distinguished part-time job in the service industry, and plan on doing so until going to whatever law school will accept me next fall.
They said an email response is completely sufficient. I am pretty bummed I have nothing special to show for all this time
Edited to add I submitted the second week of November, RD

And if you are selling drugs just say you've been busy with a "entrepreneurial arbitrage venture" and a vague description of what you do and you should be fineartichoke wrote:that's totally fine. I'm complete 11/08. Someone I PMed a few days ago told me he (she?) hd a complete date around then and heard back really recently, FWIW.achilles wrote:anyone complete around 11/11 RD? I think they should be getting to us sooooon. maybe this week?
I used up my self-allotted 1 admitted-students-website-check last night and no dice (yet?), so hopefully you all are less chicken than I am and will be checking
