My alum, who's interviewed applicants before, told me they email to tell her if the applicant gets in or not.lnsl123 wrote:+1cml731 wrote:Did anyone else's recommender get an email thanking them? Is this typically a good sign, bad sign, or just something that happens? I only applied a week ago so I can't imagine there's already a decision made. My recommender was an alum so idk if that matters.

So if it didn't say I did or didn't what does that mean?

Tbh, it probably doesn't mean much. I wouldn't worry about it!cml731 wrote:qtpie95 wrote:My alum, who's interviewed applicants before, told me they email to tell her if the applicant gets in or not.lnsl123 wrote:+1cml731 wrote:Did anyone else's recommender get an email thanking them? Interviewing in-person with alum this Friday in Boston (which is weirdly on the same day as the Boston group interview??? SOS) [stats: 167/3.8]
Any recommendations as to how to prepare (other than why law/why GULC)? Did people do extensive research on the attorney who interviewed you/their firms beforehand? Do you bring anything other than your resume (e.g. transcript, personal statement)? help plz lmao

You probably want to think of some answers to general interview-type questions. What are your best qualities, what are your worst qualities, where do you see yourself in 10 years, etclegallybrunette424 wrote:Interviewing in-person with alum this Friday in Boston (which is weirdly on the same day as the Boston group interview??? Hi, all. First time poster here. Does anyone know whether for ED applicants the alumni interview request is a sign of being likely to be accepted? Thanks!

So my Skype interviewer definitely didn't call me last night (despite us having emailed about the interview yesterday morning)...and I haven't received any sort of communication this morning about his randomly missing the appointment.
Should I email him or admin office or just wait it out or?

If I were you, I would email the interviewer and if he does not reply within a couple days, I would then email the admissions office!mrgstephe wrote:So my Skype interviewer definitely didn't call me last night (despite us having emailed about the interview yesterday morning)...and I haven't received any sort of communication this morning about his randomly missing the appointment.

Yep, that sounds like a plan - definitely agree on the concerned part (doesn't really affect me too negatively that we missed the appt/I'm not bothered by it, just concerned b/c of admissions decisions).S.Picquery wrote:Email him and CC admin office, make sure you sound concerned more than anything.mrgstephe wrote:So my Skype interviewer definitely didn't call me last night (despite us having emailed about the interview yesterday morning)...and I haven't received any sort of communication this morning about his randomly missing the appointment.

I did think to email him last night, but I had other work projects I could take care of, so it wasn't a big deal.Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:You didn't think to email him last night??mrgstephe wrote:So my Skype interviewer definitely didn't call me last night (despite us having emailed about the interview yesterday morning)...and I haven't received any sort of communication this morning about his randomly missing the appointment.

Georgetown, where is my letter? I interviewed 1/9. Admitted student trick has been working for a week. I live in DC so I would happily walk over to get my letter. I just want to be sure I am in and the website didn't make a mistake.

For an in-person alumni interview, what's the conventional wisdom on dress? Does it warrant a full suit, or are slacks and a nice shirt okay? Thanks in advance!

Did ya'll get your scholarship-feeler email? The language is "If you are interested in being considered [for a scholarship], please respond to this e-mail by Monday, February 6th. Although there is nothing additional that you are required to submit at this time, the Committee encourages you to tell us such things as where Georgetown fits into your thinking and what level of funding would make a difference in your decision."
What is the polite way of saying, "Will not be attending but I would like you to give me a lot of money for me to show other schools?"

I think that is the correct response. It'll work for sure! *cough* why not just tell the other schools you got into S? I think that would hold more weight than a GULC scholarship *cough*katthegreat11 wrote:Did ya'll get your scholarship-feeler email? Just got the scholarship feeler e-mail. Anyone have suggestions on how to respond? Is it too early to let them know about other scholarships I've received thus far/anyone know how much weight scholarships from not T-14 schools hold?
