Sorry, I worded my question poorly. I meant how often do they hand out scholarships on a chronological basis. They started on February 15th. Is it a weekly announcement, or monthly, or just randomly as they come?ProductofUnreality wrote:http://law-schools.startclass.com/l/98/ ... Check out some of the student loans - actual number threads. It's scary stuff. That 160k after taxes is about half that, factor in CoL in NYC... 7% intrest on 250k is no jokeProductofUnreality wrote:Look at the employment stats. does the status checker ever say "under review"? or does it go from "ready for review" ---> interview request?

Are there any stats on how many students they take off the reserve list each year?

From what I've read in this thread, it never actually says under review.proteinshake wrote:does the status checker ever say "under review"? or does it go from "ready for review" ---> interview request?

Given that there's a new dean of admissions/fin aid this cycle, I suspect last cycle would offer little predictive value in terms of timing of offers. We'll just have to wait and see.WhiteHouse wrote:Sorry, I worded my question poorly. I meant how often do they hand out scholarships on a chronological basis. They started on February 15th. It's about half after taxes and maxing out a 401k. You could kill the loan in ten years by paying roughly $3k/mo. That leaves you with $44k/y, which is a huge improvement for some of us. And that's only considering starting salary without bonuses.Tiddlywinks wrote:Check out some of the student loans - actual number threads. It's scary stuff. True, but it's not that much different than COL for LA (depending on neighborhoods) and I get by here decently on roughly half that. Even if we assume a 50% increase in COL I'd be coming out ahead.gamerish wrote:$44k before NYC rent and COL thoughProductofUnreality wrote:It's about half after taxes and maxing out a 401k. I'm not trying to suggest everyone should take out $250k in debt without putting a lot of thought into it, just pointing out that it's doable and can still result in a better life.
Also I'd imagine a Cornell degree is rather portable. Only 108 out of 191 2014 grads stayed in NY. I'd wager that's by choice rather than necessity.
Anyway, here's to Cornell opening their wallets and offering everyone a sizable scholarship!

I know it has been talked about a bunch of times, but I couldn't find a concrete answer as to how indicative an interview request is. Application completed 1/5, interview requested 2/5, completed 2/10. Would love to go to cornell, and I'm okay with the weather after going to Binghamton for undergrad!

Search through this thread. Someone compiled all the questions that people in this thread have been asked during the real interview. It was very helpful to me.DeathByLSATWasTaken wrote:Congrats to everyone who has gotten in so far!

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it is a step in the right direction. (You can't get in w/o one) Still a handful of people in this thread has been WL/Rejected afterwards. Also I have seen the wait time be anything from a couple of days to a month, so don't despair yet....just look out to when your app goes back to ready for review.chazzninetythree wrote:I know it has been talked about a bunch of times, but I couldn't find a concrete answer as to how indicative an interview request is. Is it when the app changes to "ready for review" or when the data changes post-interview? My impression from this thread is that it stays "Interview Requested" until the decision.

But I might be wrong, so maybe some recent admits could chime in?

Thanks for your response. I figured it isn't a guaranteed admittance, but does anyone know what the ballpark percentage is? Considering it has only been about a week since I completed my interview, I'm not too worried. If I got to a month, on the other hand....tvu wrote:Someone correct me if I am wrong, but it is a step in the right direction.
