Do we think they'll do anymore interviews? Or at this point have we abandonded interviewing for straigh decisions?

Honestly, at this point, they may only interview applicants (probably via Skype or maybe phone) that they are somewhat on the fence on, but even then, why not just wait list that applicant? I figure interviews will only be granted to applicants that they've already decided to admit and just want to confirm he/she is not a psychopath.MadwomanintheAttic wrote:Do we think they'll do anymore interviews? Does anybody know when the last wave of interviewees will hear back? Had mine around 3/20.

Going off of the past two years, it looks like there's been one big wave, either at the beginning of April or around the 3rd week; it looks like we're definitely in that "3rd week" territory. Does anyone have an idea of how many have already been admitted at this point (is there an admitted students' FB, for instance)?
I find myself a bit concerned, because looking at the past data points, when they had an earlier-April decision wave, there were plenty of acceptances -- but for the most-recent cycle, there didn't look to be any outright acceptances from this point on, and in terms of the waves we've seen this year, this cycle has conformed for the most part to last year's schedule.
Does UChicago tend to completely fill their class before reading all in-by-deadline apps? It seems unlikely that they would bother having another interview wave if they didn't have at least SOME seats to fill.
Also, a speculation (what do you all think?): is it possible that ASW is a time where admissions gauges how many admitted students will actually attend? Is that in any way credited?

I applied last year on the deadline and everyone that interviewed in my wave was waitlisted because the class was full

same here - does this mean we aren't getting an interview? Also, what is UR 1.5? I was looking at the what to expect page and wasn't sure if you are basically not getting in if you go UR2 with no interview:ggnobbq wrote:^^hope so

Chicago
Application Received
Application Complete (you get an email for this)
Application Under Review (UR 1) <- indicates first committee review of your file
(OPTIONAL) Application Under Review (UR 1.5) <- I did not receive this step, but I believe some people did
Invited for Interview
Application Under Review (UR 2) <- generally immediately after your interview, indicates that the interview is done
Application Under Review (UR 3) <- indicates second committee review of your file
Application Under Review (UR 4) <- most (all?) people get this in the days leading up to decisions being released

no idea, my fellow rookie. c/o 2016 reported a wave of ur2/ur3s followed by waitlists/acceptances, respectively, w/o interview. I didn't get anything significant from 2017 thread, other than what Hambleton just said.

UR 1.5 = getting a UR date change prior to getting an interview invite. It's 1.5 b/c not everyone gets it, and it seems like people who get it and people who don't have the same number of post-interview URs.calmboat wrote:same here - does this mean we aren't getting an interview? I also went UR2 yesterday without interview. I applied pretty much on the deadline, so realistically I can't hope for more than WL at this point, yeah?
