Haven't had a chance to read the whole thread, but I'm getting $12K/year from Texas. Still waiting to hear from Vanderbilt. How is Texas when it comes to negotiating?

Finnicky, from what I gather. They claim to only consider offers from 'exclusively peer institutions' so good luck deciphering that. On Wednesday I'm shipping them an email with information about my Cornell acceptance, my Vanderbilt scholly, and my Minnesota full ride, and maybe my money from ND as well. If they give me any cash whatsoever I'll consider it a success.

I'm worried that their attitude is essentially 'eh....we're the best school for 1000 miles in any direction and we know plenty of students that will attend here no matter what so here's $5 for a sandwich next time you come to campus.'

Yeah and it's hard to argue with that I suppose.

Also, does anybody know if theres any benefit to visiting the school? Is there even a possibility of setting up a short meeting with a rep from the admissions committee or do the visits only consist of a tour and a class?
I'm not sure if you can request a meeting or anything, but when I toured the director of admissions was the tour guide. My tour group had a couple of really obnoxious people so I can see how being obnoxious/not being obnoxious might hurt/help if you get to have some small talk with admissions reps.

I like that answer, but...
why so slow? I figured if it takes this long for them to make a decision shouldn't just send me on waitlist is an easier way out? Afterall very few people on waitlist get admitted

NYU and Columbia have been "reviewing" my file since early November. Who knows what goes through these law schools' heads. But less than two months under review is not that long.

Yeah, I submitted my app on 12/01 and I've heard nothing as well. Same questions running through my mind though. I'm hoping since some deposit deadlines are 04/15 we should be hearing back within the next couple of weeks. Do yall know if admissions offices are closed tomorrow for good friday?

So, I didn't get a travel stipend because I didn't meet the criteria. However I really want to visit and a stipend would make it possible. But I'm also waiting to hear back from Vandy and would like to negotiate my scholarship once I hear from them.

Do I try to negotiate for a travel stipend now, or will it hurt my ability to negotiate my scholarship in the future since I've already used up some of my bargaining capital?

Travel stipends aren't just for ASW? Also I don't think UT is too keen on negotiating period this cycle.

Not sure, but I wasn't able to make it. That's why I was going to try and negotiate some sort of travel scholly before the deadline. But I think I'll be better off waiting to negotiate scholarship.

Many URMs are feeling the brunt of TX's waitlist this cycle.

Yeah took forever to get mine. UT's status checker is pretty worthless anyways.

No interview, didn't tailor my application to UT at all. Not a big surprise I suppose.
