Congrats so_fetch!! I know that you really wanted UVA so that's exciting that you got it! UVA is still radio silent as far as I'm concerned, but maybe I'm still in some kind of limbo and not resigned to a WL/ding like I previously thought? Your submission and complete dates give me a bit of hope!

Thank you, yeah I am super excited! I mean... until I got the call today it was radio silence for me. You have seen my other posts haha, I was like the rest of you guys I had no clue when/what to expect. I guess that is their style. I was definitely feeling really down about it cause I hadn't heard anything yet and had no idea when I would... and then bam here it comes today.

And to you guys talking about waiting for the call at work... i was like freaking I saw the area code and on my iphone it shows the state (maybe it showed the town too but I dont think so) and I knew it was them. I like froze and finally answered after like 15 seconds. I feel like I was really awkward on the phone cause I was like happy but I didn't want to make a scene at work.
Edit-- oh yeah about the iphone location caller id thing-- this was 100000x better than the call from indiana I got yesterday from some 2L at some random (sorry if u are from indiana) school

Yeah it was up there on my list. Got into NYU 2 weeks ago and sent that app in a week after the UVA one so yeah..confusion haha

If you get an email where they tell you they want you to call to "visit with you" for a few moments regarding your application, does that definitely mean you are in? Or do they just call now?

Just got a phone call - In with $$$. Very surprised, I was an early October submit and thought I was destined for the waitlist at this point. First scholarship offer of the cycle! Good luck guys and congrats to other admits today.

I also got the email to "visit with me" about my application. I'm hoping this is an acceptance but I don't want to keep my hopes up. Damn you China and your 13 hour time difference!

I submitted aaaaaallll the way back in October (10/25), so I've been under review for quite a while now.

For everyone worrying about the "visit about your application" email, I got the same and it meant an acceptance and $ for me when I called yesterday. I obviously don't know if that's the case for everyone, but hopefully that will help calm some people's nerves. (I posted this earlier in the thread yesterday, but thought it was more relevant after seeing the last couple posts).

My letter was folded in an envelope, which was placed in a folder with about 20 other papers, all of which was stuffed in a UVA envelope, which was, in turn, shipped in a USPS envelope. If I didn't know the decision, I probably would have just started tearing things after the second envelope.

Yeaaahh I've been away from my mailing address for the holidays, and I should have about 4 packages from schools when I get back, but I'm 99% sure the postal worker will be just throwing them on the ground at this point...there is nooo way they could fit in that mailbox...

Oh definitely, and I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining - I'm ecstatic! Just a little concerned, it's a very small mailbox.

Good luck to anyone else who might be getting a phone call soon, UVA was very nice over the phone and I hope some more good news will be coming today!
