There are a ton of Emory alums who stay in Atlanta (around 40% more or less I think). There are also quite a few people who go to Florida, mostly people who came from there originally.

just got the WL email here, with way worse #s. what are their acceptance practices? i thought 166 was the magic number, pretty much regardless of GPA?
It's like they actually take the time to read personal statements, LORs, and resumes now. Crazy.

Also got waitlisted, 3.6/167. I can't complain, considering that I applied at the end of the cycle.

Does anyone know when the seat deposit deadline is? I don't live near my family's home, and once it gets sent there, it gets saved in my mom's gigantic mail pile, which means I do not see it for 5 years.

First one needs to be postmarked by April 15, I believe ($250). Then there's another one due during the summer, but I can't think of it right off the top of my head.

WL with a 167/3.65, applied mid-Nov. Surprised and disappointed.

What the heck?

I'm gonna be honest and say I felt I was NOT a very strong applicant and got in solely because of my LSAT score. Yet I applied in December with the same LSAT and a lower GPA.

I don't know what's going on.

Some of the WLs today confuse me. It doesn't seem like it's YP, but I got in with a scholarship yesterday with numbers slightly worse than people who were WL today. Granted, I had pretty good softs and strong work experience, but it still is somewhat perplexing.

WL too! 167/3.68. Don't care going to a better school, but looks like MASSIVE yield protection.

I just got wailisted at Emory with a 171 and a 3.5. Maybe I wasn't a great applicant (I have gotten scholarship offers at way better schools though) but I think Emory's strategy right now is to keep their acceptance rate low because that is some component of the rankings they can control and after going down to #30 they are desperate to climb back up. I don't buy the bullshit that they fell so many places because they have so and so many graduates who pursue other graduates. I think they really suffered on building a strong class and getting students to good jobs.

WL here too. 163/3.9x. I think my LSAT is lowest of anyone else's I've seen who has been WL'ed this far.
EDIT: nvm. Just noticed LSN. interesting.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
