I don't know how to feel about it. It puts Vandy under the shadow of two institutions. If I'm going for price, UT is 40k cheaper. If I'm going for prestige, then UMich is only 40k more expensive.

Part of the reason I'm going to the ASD is to see if I can talk them into a bigger scholarship.

Is that enough to keep you from UCLA?

I've been thinking about that since I received the award. I think I'm going to wait and see how I feel after both school's ASDs. Also, I need to figure out which offer to present Vanderbilt for negotiation. I'm also waiting on Michigan's offer, although I guarantee it won't be in Vandy's or UCLA's ballpark (from LSN research). Are you happy with your award? Congrats, by the way.

I guess I'm happy. It's the most I've gotten so far and from the highest ranked school I'm in at. I'm a little peeved over how much a difference a few questions on the LSAT is translating in terms of scholarship. 3 more questions right probably could get me another $20k or $30k some places and that seems weird to me.

ETA: still waiting on scholarship from Wisconsin. I'm above both their 75ths so I'm expecting something good.

Does anyone have any info on how far Vanderbilt usually digs into their waitlist?

Looks like we're numbers (and scholly) twins. Let me know how the negotiation with Vandy goes. I'm trying to decide if I should talk to them about it in person during my visit or over email. Any thoughts?

Wow, we really have the exact same scholarships -- that's kinda crazy. I'll do my best to let you all know what happens, but I'm probably going to be careful about discussing specifics on TLS (don't want to out myself). I do think I'll PM people information if requested, though.

72k + 5k. Happy but not sure if it's enough to pull me from Duke... definitely visiting, though. I like the fact that the 5k pays for 1L summer if no paying firm gig arises (which can probably be assumed).

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
