Got the financial aid email too. The good news is I can take out Stafford and Grad plus loans to my heart's content... Bad news is "To date, all scholarship funds have been awarded. If funds become available after April 1 (first deposit for scholarship recipients) we will notify you if you have been selected for an awards."

Got the financial aid email today. Just curious: did anyone receive any need-based grants? I was sort of hoping for something after getting my financial aid package from Loyola Chicago

I agree. I need to meet whoever I'll be living with in person, I'm VERY paranoid about new people lol. Luckily I've been in Winston for the past four years so finding a place, which I plan on doing before my graduation in May, will be a lot easier. The superlow cost of living just makes me so happy.nillumin wrote:I'm from Philly so that probably would be a problem.NCtoDC wrote:I am pretty sure they host a house hunt in the summer. This could cause a problem if you currently live far away.
This sounds ideal to me.amasingama wrote:It states on the website that there will be a housing/roommate list on the website after March 20th so that would be a good place to start.
As far as picking a roommate on TLS based on icons/posts, I don't know, I'm not that much of a risk-taker to be honest. I have roomed with the same guys for my entire span as an undergraduate, so I find the whole process of selecting a new roommate daunting.
The housing options look stellar down south though compared to up here. My roommates and I pay over 2,400 a month (not including utilities/cable/parking) for a 2-bedroom place that isn't even half as nice as those crowne apartments I was looking at....and we got a good deal on our place.

Am I the only one that did not get any fin aid email? I was accepted in the first batch 12/10 and scholly in Jan. I'm getting really worried.

I agree. Our situation makes rooming with someone very difficult.Relientkate wrote:I'm kind of fearful to get a roommate the first year, because of the potential for roommate problems distracting from studies and adding stress. Plus, I have a dog and my husband will be visiting me about every other weekend, and that might get awkward.

Well, didn't get a Fletcher, but it sounds like there is still the possibility that the ones awarded could be declined and offered to others.

I sent them an email with a number of questions regarding financial aid, scholarships and seat deposits and received a response this morning.MattThiessen wrote:Did you get an e-mail about this or something?AfroThunder1212 wrote:Well, didn't get a Fletcher, but it sounds like there is still the possibility that the ones awarded could be declined and offered to others.

It's beginning to look more and more likely that I'll be attending Wake.

Though I'm afraid that I won't hear back from all my options by 4/1 and may end up losing my 300$ deposit...

You better. My other attempts at creepily picking up potential future roommates on TLS aren't going nearly as well as plannedgirlonfire wrote:+1SherlockHolmes wrote:It's beginning to look more and more likely that I'll be attending Wake.

Visiting UConn today, but especially since I haven't heard about money from them, Wake is looking more and more likely by the day.

Re: Wake 2011
Can any of us create an official facebook group for the class of 2014 or will it have to be done by the office of admissions?

For those who have decided, there is a Class of 2014 thread for Wake now. Might be a good place to talk about House Hunt and moving to W-S

lol! I appreciated the comment -- any other lover of SPK has to be a good person. However, my username actually does not sound like "lettuce" when pronounced. It's italian: lei dice, for "she says"snapdragon wrote:You better. also: has anyone who paid for the full USNWR willing to share all the data it lists about Wake?

(This is pretty much the extent of my knowledge of Italian, sadly. Only had time to take one intro class, which was during my study abroad in Florence)

Re: Wake 2011
Maybe we should start a collective fund to buy a pass in order to get the info, lol.
So, I got my scholarship from another school today, but it is rather punitive, so maybe I will go to Wake...
