I hope you hear something soon too. I might have had a quick turnaround because I went to case for undergrad.MBZags wrote:Hm, hopefully I'll hear something either way soon then. I went into review on 1/20.

Did anyone else get an e-mail about external scholarships from Case today? I haven't been admitted yet and I am wondering if they send that to everyone or only those who are being admitted.

If you read it closely, there are other criteria for judging such as personal statement, community service etc. When I look at my resume and PS, I can see what I might have received this email.

I also received that e-mail about the ABA legal opportunity scholarship. Like others here I'm a minority but not URM. My status checker still just says committee review. C'mon Case, stop making me lose my hair... lol

Yes but being a URM seems to be a requirement.charlesjd wrote:If you read it closely, there are other criteria for judging such as personal statement, community service etc. When I look at my resume and PS, I can see what I might have received this email.

Re: Case Western 2010
Selection Criteria:
- The scholarship fund is intended to encourage racial and ethnic minority students to apply to and attend law school and to provide financial assistance
- Member of a racial and/or ethnic minority that has been underrepresented in the legal profession
- Personal, family, and educational background
- Personal Statement
- Financial Need
- Participation in community service activities
You may correct as I do not know the actual intentions of the school, however, as one can see, it is equally laid out in a list format.

Re: Case Western 2010
I was so excited. I got an email from Case like 20 minutes ago. I thought it was my acceptance/rejection letter. I opened it, and it was a letter inviting me to apply for an outside URM scholarship. I was really disappointed.

Rejected at Case via e-mail. I'm thinking this might actually be my first yield protect!! That makes me happy. 163/3.84 here. Or maybe it was because I never returned their call about scheduling an interview...

Rejected @ Case via EMAIL w/ 3.50 / 163
For future reference, not doing the phone interview appears to be auto reject. HIGH FIVE.
