I actually have a quick question geared to those who are currently in the Stanford area. I know that for a while AT&T had a monopoly on wireless coverage on the Stanford campus. Can someone tell me whether that is still the case? I'm currently on Verizon and have to plan whether to make the switch. Thanks!
AT&T is still the only carrier that will consistently get you 4 or 5 bars. Verizon and Sprint will get you 3 (sometimes 4) bars and tMobile basically doesn't work (for those coming from NYC).
It's hilarious that I know this.
You never know when apparently meaningless knowledge will be useful, eh?

Well there you go. Some things do change. Freshman year (fall 2004) AT&T was seriously the only provider that got service. 2004!!

If you want to write him back about any questions, he will answer you. I speak from experience.
It's odd that I'm the only admit here so far who didn't get anything unique about them in their email. I suppose that it's a comment on the worthlessness of my non-academic activities. Oh well, not that it matters.

My email wasn't that personalized either. It just said "Your excellent record at College X - both in the classroom and out - made your application a compelling one for us." I was looking forward to hearing about something specific that they liked!

Thanks for letting me know that I'm not completely the most colorless admit.

If I go, I'll look forward to meeting all of you.

The acceptance packet arrived today! Great information, including the most recent edition of "Stanford Lawyer." Somehow Stanford sent the right shirt size for one shirt (large) but went awry in choosing the size of the other one (medium). I think I can forgive them

Yup. A general Stanford shirt came in one packet. A Stanford Law School shirt was in the packet with the other admissions material.

+1. I want two shirts...
Also, for those who have already turned in Need Access and FAFSA, apparently the first financial aid letters start going out at the beginning of next month. Very exciting!!!

Judging by the ASW agenda online, I'm going to pre-rate the event 11 out of 10.

Oh, there's a good reason why they didn't send me the general Stanford shirt. The reason(s) is / are hanging in my closet.

What are the chances you will be attending law classes in Palo Alto next fall? And congrats on your UG award!

Thanks! My resume needs some padding, so I'm grateful for it.
I'd estimate the chances at around 50-55%, up from 40-45% about a month ago.

You've got a helluva tough choice to make. Good luck on it! I take it you'll be at ASW at SLS?

Actually, no. I'm visiting at individual times. Since I live here, though, I may drop by for an event or two if it looks interesting.

What? I have only one shirt and one packet to my name. I received the packet with the SLS folder, my acceptance letter, etc. What's in the other packet?

WhiskeyGuy is just extra-special in Dean Deal's heart. The rest of us are merely rabble...
I'll take one SLS shirt over zero, though, that's for damn sure.
