+1. Kinda funny, I have my U.S. number call forward my int'l/skype one... and they didn't feel like leaving a voicemail.342848386278 wrote:In at BU via a nice personalized email a few minutes ago. If you are thinking about going to ASW, how does the visa process work?

I have a business/tourist visa that is still valid. I think you'd have to apply for their standard tourist visa if you'd want to visit.bluedolphins wrote:If you are thinking about going to ASW, how does the visa process work?

In at GW w/ 105k via snail mail with a handwritten note from the dean!! This makes me feel slightly better about not having heard anything from Berkeley (either positive OR negative) during the decisions last week.

+1- and I did not expect a decision that fast from them, since I didn't apply until mid-Jan. Made my Monday.342848386278 wrote:In at GW w/ 105k via snail mail with a handwritten note from the dean!! I got the same thing, but despite general consensus on TLS I really like Georgetown and will be trying to get off the WL.342848386278 wrote:Blech, priority waitlist at GULC via email. Maximum sad, my first WL. Oy, hope it isn't an omen...

Got my ding from Michigan and my nice acceptance package from Northwestern yesterday. Yay Northwestern for sending it via FedEx - it got to me about as fast as it got to everyone in the U.S.!

Got a huge blue box from Columbia full of information booklets and the like. Columbia really goes out of its way to woo admits, I must say. And I'm a sucker for this stuff anyway
The package took around 10-15 days to reach me like the rest of Columbia's envelopes/packages.
Also received my acceptance package from Northwestern via fedex last week. Took the usual 2-3 days to get here, like most courier parcels.

My admit package from Illinois took a month to arrive (Mexico). They use snail mail for their international mail. They are sending a pretty cool Flash drive now, so yours might actually come with it.Holly Golightly wrote:Expected ding from Columbia via snail mail and my admit package from UIUC.

I got an email from GW inviting me to an admitted students banquet, but never received a letter or an email, so I called and they told me my acceptance letter was sent out Feb 18th. I am in Peru and I still haven't received anything in the mail. Also, didn't go complete until 2/3.

"Decision Rendered" at BC via status checker - unfortunately, they note that a letter has been mailed via US Postal service, which probably translates into "it'll get to France by April."

In at UCLA via a cryptic, "maybe you have already recieved our letter in the post?" email. Unfortunately, I didn't make the March 2nd financial aid deadline (it costs money to apply for financial aid at UCLA so, not having yet received a decision, I held off assuming I was WL or rejected ; WHY would a university set their FAFSA & grant aid deadline before informing admitted students? Granted, it's my fault for not applying, but given that the Need Access application adds 30 bucks on top of the application fee I already paid, and I'm broke, it seemed ridiculous to fill it out and throw it towards a university that hadn't even given me an under review date. I haven't even heard back from half the schools I applied to, and I'm expected to have already applied to UCLA's financial aid program without being admitted? INFURIATING!!!).
Despite financial aid frustration though, still excited. It's an incredible school, and I'm thankful.

That is definitely frustrating. This problem has always been my biggest fear. Maybe you could talk to the school about it, because it is not your fault at all and since the deadline was not that long ago.342848386278 wrote:In at UCLA via a cryptic, "maybe you have already recieved our letter in the post?" email. Box too! Mailed 2/12... might have gotten it last week (I was out of town, so unsure). It cost them $46.50 to mail this beautiful thing, in a semi-timely manner. I'm really really impressed... they're definitely winning me over...ankit wrote:Got a huge blue box from Columbia full of information booklets and the like. Also, Duke scholly mailed 2/9 finally arrived possibly last week, too. $60k meh... not enough to tear me from Mich/CLS.

Where are you based? It cost about $46 for Columbia to send its big box to me too but I still haven't received the Duke Scholly letter. My status checker says it was mailed on Feb 18 and I am in Asia.parker09 wrote: Box too! Mailed 2/12... might have gotten it last week (I was out of town, so unsure).
